I'm still mulling over the blockbuster reveals in this book. Not that it's so much about the character evils of DJT but that I had absolutely NO IDEA how the way a campaign is structured and conducted (or not) is so pivotal to the actual election result. I sure hope to heck that the Democratic election machine has learned their lesson from the failures and missteps of the Clinton campaign and do it right in 2020. A must read for anyone wondering how the heck an unethical, immoral, soulless man can be elected President of the United States.

I'm glad the author started out by saying that Trump possesses some of the worst human characteristics a person can have. Otherwise, I would not have continued this book. He was really hard on Hillary. I never knew why people disliked her so much. The author presented much negative information about her. He clearly liked Bernie. Solutions were offered to get out of our present situation. We should engage the Trump voters and convince them that Democrats want them to lead the best life possible-adequate healthcare, decent wages, good working conditions, respect, and a clean environment. This book was not what I expected, but was informative. It's really a book about why Democrats lost the election.

Attacks both Trump and his opponent(s) with enough of a unique viewpoint to make it worth reading

If you consider yourself a communist, socialist, or something else far to the left of mainstream U.S. politics and you've kept up with things, then you might not find much that you don't already know in this book. (It's still a good read regardless.) For anyone else, read it.
It attacks Trump of course, and if you have not read a book-length work on the subject yet then this would be the one to choose.
But it also spends a lot of time attacking the Democratic establishment who "allowed" this to happen and presenting potential solutions, and that's the main reason why the book is valuable.

Most informed and well-researched account of the 2016 election I’ve read yet. He doesn’t accept partisan post-mortums of Hillary’s loss and shows how the Democrats arrogance caused them to miss repeated threats to the “blue wall” while diverting resources to utterly useless campaign efforts. He relies on statistical, financial, and first-hand sources, not the official accounts of the candidates and their allies, but he’s read them thoroughly and addresses them clearly and with devastating persuasion.

Good book, very interesting perspective, different than other books I've read on the subject. The author gives a positive picture of what citizens can do now including the importance for voters and "everyone" to focus on important matters in our government today and not be distracted, although upsetting, on the "smaller" issues we see on social media. I recommend this for people who are trying to figure out how to think about this administration and what to do now.

For anyone not educated on the 2016 election, this book will leave you not just well-versed but aghast at the reality of politics in America.

I am giving this a five star rating because it puts into words all that I have thought and believed to be true about the election of Donald Trump, and how it can be remedied. I would like to thank Nathan Robinson for an up front and honest review of what happened and the work that must be done to undo the damage.

Second half of the book will possibly help Trump get reelected in a landslide. IMO the author has missed the point of the points he made in his own book...... sad!

An interesting insight into the mentality and behaviour of the so called leader of the western world. If this supposition is true than what must the rest of the leaders be like. The book is not an easy read as there is a tendency for the author to be repetitive in his condemnation of Donald Trump. The world can but hope that the citizens of the USA recognise the mistake they have made in electing Trump sooner rather than later

The best book of a man who is controversial at best and a thoroughly unpleasant person at worst

This is a big book with lots of pages but ....it’s worth it. All those that want an unvarnished account of the most controversial US president...EVER , then read this book. You will not be disappointed!

The only criticism I have is that there wasn't a proper investigation into why Bernie lost the primary and what he could have done better in order to not lose against Hillary. Otherwise this is a great and at times very funny (but horrifying) book

Should be MANDATORY reading for the each member of the DEMOCRAT PARTY
Reviewed in Canada on January 27, 2018Verified Purchase
This is an honest, frank analysis of what went wrong for the Democrats in the presidential election allowing Trump to be elected. he makes many astute observations as well as gives possible solutions on how to have the DEMOCRATS rebound and have a possibility of reclaiming voter loyalty and attention if they are to beat the Republicans and a Trump next time.
