"Professor of trumpet at Ithaca College's Whalen Center for Music and Clinic Editor for the ITG Journal, Campos brings years of experience through triumphing over failures to both the art of playing and teaching. Primarily addressed to students at the college level and written academically from the
perspective of a performer and teacher, Trumpet Technique is readable by any aspiring player from high school onwards. And it surely should be required reading for every teacher and band director at any level...Campos's text is one of the best and most clearly written overviews of everything a
trumpet player and teacher should know about building the body, mind, and musical ability...Campos's text has set a standard which others will have a great difficulty surpassing."--International Trumpet Guild Journal
"Trumpet Technique is the most thorough treatise on trumpet playing and music making I have encountered throughout my musical career. Not exclusively for trumpet players, it should be in the library of every musician and teacher, every dedicated student and player of wind instruments."--Marvin
Stamm, Jazz artist and educator
"Campos not only dispels the myth that great players are not great teachers, but he has also shown they can be great writers. Trumpet Technique is a must for serious students and teachers of trumpet."--David Champouillon, Bach Performing Artist, Associate Professor of Trumpet, East Tennessee State
"Trumpet Technique by Frank Gabriel Campos is a treasury of pertinent information for the serious trumpet player or teacher."--Allen Vizzutti, international trumpet soloist
"Trumpet Technique by Frank Gabriel Campos is a book that every student, teacher, and professional will want to have. Quoting many of our greatest teachers and professionals of our time, Campos provides a needed reference in our lifelong quest to master the trumpet."-- Vincent DiMartino,

I do not suggest this book for a young, beginner player. Experienced players could glean valuable information about every aspect of playing. If you are a brass teacher, this book is well researched and you need this information
This is not a method book with etudes. It is not a self-teaching guide. You will not find music theory or even the rudiments of music. It is all about physicality affecting tonality.
I cannot add anything to the information that is given the fine description and other fine reviews. I just want to give thumbs up to a superb book about learning and teaching trumpet.
If you're a trumpet teacher, I seriously recommend this book.
As a trumpet student I did find it useful, however I had to take (almost) a 3rd-person view of my own practice to really apply it.

I don't recommend it. Maybe other books are a better option.
