This was a very light, sweet read. It was a little drawn out at times, but over all, a feel good romance with hot sexy scenes, an easy to follow plot and little hearts and flowers.
The only thing that bugged me is the way they kept their relationship secret for so long. I thought that it was over done and caused way more problems than if they just would have come out. I didn't care for the reactions some of the family members gave either. It didn't make sense for the brother to be so protective and not understand why the sister or his friend would keep it from him. I mean - duh! - you go crazy on anyone that gets close to her! Jeez...LOL, okay rant over. So like I said, sweet and fun - just a little OTT with the discretion the two kept.

What a light and easy read. Loved this book and cast of characters. It is going to be like the Kristin Proby series where I cannot wait to join this family again and read about what happens next. Great little gem of a find. Bravo Ms Black. I cannot wait to read more from you. I am going to list everything below that I usually like to know before I buy a book.
-Full length novel
-No cliffhanger
-Part of a series, each couple has a stand alone book
- Not too much angst

Lacey’s style of writing flowed exceptionally well throughout the novel and easily without realising, Lacey’s words had whirled me away into a terrific place called “Rivers Edge”.

Avery Stevens is a single mum who has had her heart broken twice by men who should have known better, especially the father of her daughter Brooklyn – Drake Connor. Drake and Avery dated for a few years until she found out that not only was he habitually cheating on her with several other girls during their “relationship” but the day she told him she was pregnant he turned and walked away from her claiming he wanted nothing to do with the child they had created, in fact he tried to claim it wasn’t even his. This broke Avery and it was only with the help of her family and strong minded but superbly compassionate best friend, Holly Jenkins that she survived the heartache. Giving birth to Brooklyn or “little bean” as her nickname states which is terribly cute! Gave Avery purpose to move on with her life.

Having a huge family, 4 older brothers to be precise (Jake the eldest who is working as a cop, Travis, Nate and Will) has its rewards but also its draw backs for her. Her parents have instilled in her the right morals, so much so she has grown up to be a woman who puts her daughter and family first but although her brothers protect her, which when it came to Drake (Jake had his “fun” teaching him not to hurt his sister) a good thing it also has massive drawbacks, anyone and everyone is not good enough for her in their eyes. They also tend to interfere in her life “for her own good”, which was true in the case of her current job; working for the local Law Firm – Andrews and Levine Law Office, in town as Mr Michaels Assistant.

This book was okay. The idea was good, but the climactic moment for the H and h and their relationship was just really dramatic, and given the situation and evidence the h was presented with plus her previous experience, I thought the H's reaction was really douchey. The writing was adequate and the story was heartwarming, I really enjoyed the incorporation of the h's daughter, but it just fell flat overall. The characters didn't have much depth even though their life stories would indicate otherwise. It really just felt like guy and girl are attracted to each other, they go on obligatory two dates, have sex, and then are in love. It's known that when people spend that much time together they will bond and fall in love, but the author doesn't really show that. We don't see a deeper conversation. We don't see that connection form. I also don't enjoy shaming other women to make the h feel better about herself. Example *SPOILER* They went to a restaurant, hostess flirted with H, H then publicly shamed her calling her slutty or tacky and whatever so that jealous h would feel superior. If that happened in real life that would really turn me off. Super major douche move.

Lacey Black is amazing with her debut novel!!! She tells a story of an amazing little town that makes you wish you could be apart of! We have Avery who has been screwed over by a man she thought she loved and is scared to fall again, especially for her brothers best friend Maddox also known as a ladies man... When they both can't deny their attraction anymore will they end up allowing the other to trust? This book is surrounded by amazing supporting characters and I can't wait for what's more to come from the amazing Lacey Black... Pick this book up today don't delay!

Trust Me is the debut novel from Lacey Black and after reading it, I’ve added the next two books in this series to my TBR list.

At the young age of 22, Avery is a single mother to her 3yo daughter, Brooklyn. Her ex-boyfriend, Drake, dumped her at hearing she was pregnant and has never acknowledged that Brooklyn is his daughter. Luckily for Avery, her parents and her four older brothers banded together to help raise her beautiful baby girl.

Maddox doesn’t date or do relationships. He picks up women, heads over to their place for some good times and leaves as soon as he’s done. To Maddox, Avery is off limits. Not only is she 10 years younger than him, but she’s also his best friend, Jake’s, little sister. He’s always been very protective of her, but lately that protective instinct has evolved into something more. Something possessive. Something that has him thinking to the future and what might be.

But a bitter ex threatens their relationship, the situation made worse when their secret relationship is discovered by Jake.

As I mentioned above, this is Lacey’s debut novel. I’m always pleasantly surprised when I finish a book, and only when I’m about to review it do I find out that it was a debut novel. This tells me that not only does the writer have great talent, but their support team does an amazing job as well.

This story was well written and it flowed very nicely. The relationship between Avery and Maddox is scorching hot and beautifully sweet. You can see that he cares very deeply for not just Avery, but Brooklyn as well. In fact, I think it’s his interactions with Brooklyn that melted my heart the most. The supporting characters are also amazing. Avery’s best friend Holly is a riot and I hope she’s able to snag one of the Stevens brothers. And Avery’s family is what you wish every family could be like: loving, funny, supportive and loyal.
