Julia Bradshaw had been married to the up and coming politician, Paul Bradshaw for six years when she finally had enough of him beating her and divorced him. She left with her six-year-old son and opened a small inn called The Hacienda with the proceeds from her settlement. A local bank that is in the process of being sold owns the mortgage on the Inn and Paul ends up buying the mortgage. He plans to use this against Julia to make her take him back. Julia goes to his mansion to confront him but at the last minute she pulls back out of the driveway and heads home. That night Paul, who is also on the Crime Commission fighting organized crime, is murdered. Julia becomes a serious suspect in the crime as she is placed at the scene of the crime. The Bradshaw's are a rich, powerful family and Julia's ex-father-in-law decides that she is guilty and starts a campaign to see her in jail allowing him full custody of his grandson. Luckily for Julia there are others with motives, which helps to keep her from being arrested right away. Steve Reyes is a reporter who comes to The Hacienda to investigate the story. Julia finds herself attracted to him despite the walls she has built up. What is Steve's real story and how does he know so much about the Bradshaws? Can Steve help her prove her own innocence and help to find the real killer of Paul? Trust No One is an excellent novel. The story has so many twists and turns and allows the reader to follow along at a dizzying speed. Christiane Heggan keeps you guessing and her strong characters keep you interested right up to the end! Christiane Heggan weaves a tightly wound tapestry of suspense, intrigue and romance! Had loved the Mary Higgins Clark books and these remind me a little of her books just a tad more racy in parts. Still a good read.

This is definitely a page turner

I really like this book, I couldn't figure out who was the actual [bad guy] until the end. I like this book because it was different from the outcome. I try to figure out who the murderer really is and this book kept me guessing until the end. I like the little romantic interlude, which didn't take from the characters. I also like how the picture was painted, you could feel the love she had for Frank, it felt as though she was truly shocked when she found it was he who really killed her brother. I felt she could have done more with Gleic Eire, make them appear ruthless,this only talked about past bombings and the one murder of Eli Seavers. They didn't appear as though they were a real terrorist group more like the four stooges, especially when McDermott hired his cousin to find the tape and actually botch the job. But all in all I like the book.

GREAT, BUT IT'S NOT HEGGAN'S BEST!

"Trust No One" brought out another side of writing in Christiane Heggan. This novel dealt with terrorism. A old man in a hospital is killed. A powerful policitican is murdered. An innocent woman was killed in a bombing eight years ago. You're thinking, how do all these events die together? Well, they do, in a very interesting way. Julia Bradshaw, the policitians widow, and Steve Reyes, a news reporter, who lost his girlfriend in the bombing, must come together and solve this puzzling mystery! "Trust No One" is well worth the money!

Suspense or romance? Not the best read...

This book was difficult to get through. The writing is adequate, the plot okay, but I really do not like my mysteries reading too much like a romance novel. I also prefer to have my characters well-drawn out, and I did not feel that Heggan did a good job at this. I picked this book up at the library, but I don't think I will be reading any more of this particular author's work. I don't have the time to waste. To be fair to the author, there are many readers out there who would enjoy this book because it does not make any demands on the reader. It is light suspense reading, and for some people that is all they want. If you are reading for enjoyment and entertainment, and you like romance and suspense together in your mysteries without a lot of depth, then this book and this author are for you.
