I was knocked out by this record! One of the best rock/jazz fusion records I have heard in a very long time! It's like Weather Report, meets Bruford, meets Miles Davis! Yes! It is THAT good! Precision playing and well written tunes! I only got to see Adam play live one time, with his wife's (who also plays on the album) band, Jane Getter's Premonition, and they were excellent! Truth Decay is mostly instrumental, with only two vocal tracks (Randy McStine, & Nick Beggs), but it is all great stuff! VERY RECOMMENDED!!
As a huge fan of Steven Wilson's work it only seemed natural to order this new release from Adam Holzman as his work there is superb. All of his excellent work with SW gave me confidence that this too would be excellent. I absolutely love this disc and all of the songs are well crafted and show off the keyboard talents of this seasoned professional. He has some terrific guest musicians with him including SW bandmates and other very talented players. The title track is timely given the current state of the world and it has become part of my personal lexicon. I had no idea how diverse and wide ranging Adam's work was until I gave this one a try and have been researching his portfolio.
This is very approachable music that is fresh and interesting and if you appreciate players at the top of their game than you will not be disappointed. A nice Gem to add to your collection. My hat is off to Adam for this wonderful recording.
Love it! Admit that I am a big SW fan - and became aware of his record at local show but could not stay to meet (darn it - should have- darn it). Got around to buying and I love it. Great compositions and great sound. Adam - more please.
5.0 out of 5 starsHÉ BIEN NON !
