SPOILER-FREE Review:
The Finding Anna series is one of the most lyrical and addictive BDSM – romance series I have ever read. If you have been thinking about reading Slave and Need, the first two books in the Finding Anna series, please read them now because TRUTH is an absolutely breathtaking story.

In Truth, Brianna is slowly healing from her earlier brutal confinement, but is far from free of the emotional scars inflicted on her by Ian, her cruel Master. Although Stephan has become her ultimate protector, he is after all still a Dom and he must be extremely cautious in furthering their Dom/ sub relationship. Brianna also worries what their friends and acquaintances will think about their very unusual relationship, but Stephan does everything, and I mean everything, in his power to help her learn to trust again.

“BDSM isn’t about a Dominant forcing his will upon another. It’s about fulfilling both individual’s needs.”

Things REALLY heat up between Stephan and Brianna in Truth. This is a beautiful and explicit exploration of the nature of a Dominant and submissive relationship. The author has created some very, very erotic scenes between Stephan and Brianna, but even though Stephan’s feelings for Brianna are quite clear, she fears that she will not be strong enough to sustain a loving relationship with him.

Stephan is one swoon-worthy Dom! He takes great pride in helping Brianna and loves that even the simplest things in life bring her extreme happiness. The story also has some danger and lots of thrilling elements with the presence of Brianna’s father as well as Stephan’s efforts to bring Brianna’s former sadistic master, Ian, to justice.

Yes, there is a very sudden and shocking conclusion to Truth. The story is so rich and well-crafted that I can’t wait to see where Ms. Hayes takes Stephan and Brianna next. Truth is a must-read book and I can’t wait to read more from Sherri Hayes.

They say don’t judge a book by its cover. I would have to say for me in this case it would be don’t judge a book by its name. I assumed from the title Slave I would be reading the standard BDSM Master/Slave story. Boy oh boy was I wrong.

The Finding Anna series by Sherri Hayes has to be one of the most tender, passionate love stories I have read in quite a while. Character so deep and rich with emotions they bleed onto the pages and into your heart. A storyline so unique and defined to perfection it was impossible for me to put these books down. Each book in this series is well scripted and focuses in on one exact point with undertones of the broader storyline.

We start book one Finding Anna with one strong well defined character and one character so broken you wonder if it is possible to mend not only the mind but the heart and body. The meeting, the horror, the truths and lies. The hope, the despair and the intense desire will keep your eyes locked on the pages while the world around you ceases to exist.

Book Two Need picks up right where book one ended and the journey of acceptance in its many forms is learned, applied, disregarded and accepted. Realization and discovery of wants, needs and desire plays a major factor in this story and the internal conflict is written beautifully.

Book Three Truth brings a sense of happiness, confusion, longing and despair. Forces from outside of the cast of characters we have met in books one and two makes this a compelling, fierce story while it still graces us with the core of the series. Love, acceptance, forgiveness, betrayal, hopes and dreams.

Book Four Trust takes us full circle. It provides us with a story of hope and survival.

Third book in the series picks up where book two finished.
While this is a well written book, I would have liked to have seen the story moved forward a bit more, that didn't happen IMO. The relationship between Stephan and Brianna is still rather tenuous. I'm not sure I am totally onboard with it, it feels a little forced especially the sex scenes. After Brianna's terrible experiences at Ian's hand for ten months, she's still traumatised. Almost every other character in the book strongly disapproves of their being together, seeing it as inappropriate. One or two things that Stephan does I found off putting, his little punishments were totally out of place for me.

But most of all I was a bit disappointed that this ends on another cliffhanger.

With Anna slowly progressing toward the normal life she hopes to have one day after living under the cruelty of one man, Stephan finds himself falling deeper and deeper in love with her. When the past starts making itself known, their life together falls under scrutiny, they are left defending themselves to friends and family alike. The struggle Anna and Stephan experience as they navigate through their unusual relationship is emotional and the ending leaves you asking why do they have such hurdles in their life together? I am just disappointed that I will have to wait until Spring 2014 for the next story! I don't know if I can wait!!!

To start with I really enjoyed Book 1 and 2 and was anxiously waiting on Book 3 and was of the opinion that it was the final instalment as there was no mention that there would be a book 4.
I liked how the story progressed but I must admit that I did find Brianna too teary and believe she could have been made into a stronger character. I like Stephen's character but find that for a 24 year old his actions are too old for him, I thought he was actually a lot older especially when he has concerns about his age in relation to Brianna's. There is only 5 years difference, not 15 or 25. Overall I did enjoy the book and hope Book 4 is better, Spring 2014 in the US is a long time to wait for this.
