Fun add on to the series but not really a stand alone story. This prequel only works as an add on but is not an adequate introduction to the series. I would recommend reading "Death Has a Name" first. This is just back story and the two novels are much richer and more fully realized. You will get a better feel for this author's work This short novella is good but the books are really good.

This prequel is one of the reasons why I am a Free Book Hunter....

This is a fantastic new universe. Brodie Wade has always been a bit different. He sees things differently. So differently that he spent a bit of time in a mental institution and was released only on the condition that he takes his medication. Well he is kind of fudging that. He has a friend who is a police officer, Detective Phil Dawson, who acknowledges that Brodie sees things other people don't, but he thinks it is just that he has a hyper memory. To help Brodie stay occupied and to help clear a cold case Phil asks for Brodie's help. However, Phil doesn't like Brodie's theory. Werewolves.

In the beginning I wasn't sure if Brodie was psychic or having a psychotic break. In the end it didn't matter.

The writing is tight and the mystery quite compelling. This introduction was just what this reader needed. A new series. I have already downloaded the "first" book of the series Death Has a Name (The Brodie Wade Series) . I am looking forward to meeting these characters again.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS STORY. And yes I know I was shouting.

I suggest you start at the first book in the series and work through in order.
This series is outstanding with wonderful plots. Within paranormal mystery
Jerry Hanel is one of the elite so read them all.

This is a short prequel to Death Has a Name. It gives a bit more background on both Brodie and Phil and details their first case together. It's a good short read that can introduce you to the series or simply build upon any of the others you may have read.

I'm not so much into Werwolf books. This is a very short story and lacks any depth because of it. The main character is kinda plain and doesn't seem to have much of a personality or backbone.
Also "The Truth" - what is it? Ghosts, Higher Beings, Monsters, what? In my opinion it's never really fully explained. At least not that it makes sense to me.
