The breathtaking companion novella to Twisted Truth from Wall Street Journal bestselling author Kendra Elliot.
A torrential two-day storm has cut off the small town of Solitude, Oregon, from the outside world. But for police officers Stevie Duncan and her husband, Zane, the ravages of nature have nothing on the nature of man. In the last forty-eight hours, a child was a mute witness to a double homicide; an unidentified body has washed up on the riverbanks; and now, at the foot of a submerged bridge, two FBI agents have been found shot to death inside their SUV. What’s worse, the young charge they were enlisted to protect has gone missing.
With the only exit out of town washed away, Stevie and Zane know that the murderer is trapped. But whatever’s going on in Solitude is far from over—because as sure as the receding water, the killer is going to resurface.

Perhaps the down-home, small-town personality and culture was one of the most appealing elements of all Rogue novellas, revealing the stark contrast between violent murders and the hokey family backstories that connects all the novellas together.
This final volume was Kendra Elliot's best work of the 10 volumes for the strong tensions, plot twists, and unique characters surrounding the tragic murders and challenging investigation, something that made these last two novellas the most compelling and complete. Fast, fun reading and multiple surprises kept this series engaging and entertaining.
The abducted boy plot elements added suspenseful intensity to the storyline, making these last two installments hard to put down.
The Audible narration worked well too, especially as a value-added reading supplement.
Not initially a fan of shorter fiction, the Leigh-Elliot team made this format both refreshing and enjoyable, winning me over.
Well done!
What can I possibly say other than this was a great conclusion to a fabulous series!!! As I said before I was hooked on this series from the very beginning!!! I love everyone in this family and the little town that forms the backdrop!!! All of the characters are wonderful even the supporting ones. They all played a vital role in this series. This series is packed with action despite that all the books were novellas. And this final book was no exception!!! It is the continuation of the previous book however it is so different. It starts off with a bang and the mystery continues. More questions arise and thankfully we get answers. If I had a complaint it would be that the end seemed a little rushed. Especially when the author gives you the run down of the why’s and answers at the end. I feel like there should have been a bit more in depth. I know it is a novella however I don’t think a few more pages would have hurt. Other than that this novella was great!!! I know the authors said that this book is the final book in this series but as I stated before it leaves things open for more possibilities!!! I hope this isn’t the end. I am attached to all of the characters and would like to see more of them. However if this book concluded the series than I must say it was more than a fabulous way to go out!!! Thank you Kendra and Melinda for an awesome series!!! You once again delivered — but that isn’t a surprise!!! I highly recommend the Rouge series!!! It is more than worth it!!!
PS— don’t let this be the end—
