There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
There's no fluff here: "This is the myth -> This is the truth -> Do this thing." While it's straightforward, it's a pleasant read.
I would have liked to have seen an expanded table of contents, with link to each section, so I can choose an item I want to review later - but that's just a "me" thing. Really, the book is short enough that it does well without it.
Definitely a keeper, this one.
Reviews matter and this book tells you how to get honest reviews and how many to ask for when the books comes out.
It addresses mistakes made when asking for reviews and offers guidance on how to ask.
It’s a very quick read, well done and information is shared in a useful way without filler.
I was given a copy of this book to review honestly. If I can’t say something nice about a book I don’t post a review.
Myths vs. Facts
This book is composed of a series of truths versus myths about reviews. The book is really short and you can read it in one go; however, the information within its pages is powerful. In the beginning, the information seems pretty obvious, but the authors approach is what makes this book extremely original and a must have for authors who are struggling with reviews.
The advices within its pages are the real value of this short book, the authors don't just state the myths and the truths, but they tell you how to approach the problem and how to fix it, in case you were doing anything wrong.
Reviews are something that I struggle with as an author, but thanks to this book, now I have a new mindset to approach them and a new challenge.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who is not sure if reviews are important. You will be surprised what you find in this book but in a good sense. You will learn the basics like I did.

This is the authors' second book about book reviews, sort of like an appendage. While the first one (How to Get Honest Reviews) focuses on the how-to's of getting reviews, this one lays out more of the rationale behind it as well as some common pitfalls to avoid. They also give a good rundown of the terms of service when it comes to reviews, so it's a good refresher for seasoned authors or starting point for newbies.
Yes,they tell us, reviews do matter. But reviewers and authors need to know Amazon’s terms of service because some of the rules are easily broken. For instance, authors can’t review a book in the same genre as one of theirs. Everyone needs to know how much can be quoted from a review, too.
Is it OK for authors to pay for a review? How about trading books in exchange for positive reviews? How can you encourage readers to post honest reviews?
Note: I was given a copy of this book by the authors but that in no way influenced my review.
Note: I was provided this book by Body and Soul Publishing in exchange for an honest review. I am under no obligation to give a good rating.
