I bought this to keep as much hair as possible out of our RV tanks as possible. I came across this on a YouTube video of items below $15. I decided to give it a try since the original mesh plug was not working very well. My only concern was if it would fit the drain in our RV thinking it's smaller than most in home tubes but it fit perfectly. It has caught everything that has tried to go down the drain and it will let you know when to clean it by being very slow to drain.

THIS. IS. INCREDIBLE.

I've always had longer hair (not long hair, but between my shoulder blades and my shoulders), and I can't tell you how many gallons of Liquid Plumber I've gone through in my life. THIS IS A THING OF BEAUTY. When I moved out on my own to my own apartment with my own bathroom, I knew I had to get one of these. I'd heard so many great things, and knew I didn't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money on Liquid Plumber when this would solve all of my problems.

I had NO IDEA how much hair would be collected in just ONE WEEK. (I'd post photos so you could see how well it works, but nobody wants to see that...) It's super gross to clean out, but I'm glad that all of that hair isn't going down the drain!

It took me a little bit to figure out how to take the original drain out, but once I did, I just popped the tub shroom in and voila! No more issues! The only downside to the tub shroom is that you have to replace the original drain if you ever want to take a bath (and sometimes I do). But if baths are few and far between (or non-existent) in your life, this is what you're after. Thank you, tub shroom!

So, I am the father of three girls (16, 14, & 8)...plus, of course, the wife. None of our girls have ever had a haircut, so we're talking a house full of long hair; hair brushes, hair styling tools; pins & clips; elastic bands & cinches; scarves & hats; and an amazing assortment of soaps, conditioners, and gels. Needless to say I have tried every type of drain screen I could find. Regardless of type I have had a constant battle with clogging drains. I would regularly pull out hair balls from the drain that would resemble a drowned rodent. All that has come to an end.
This shroom thingy really works. If you read the negative comments, they mostly come from people who complain that I clogs too quickly. If you clean it every time you shower it will never clog. The whole point is to catch hair while . , allowing the water

Works great! And worth every penny if it means I don't have to unclog the drain for an hour. It's a big help as I have long hair and this doesn't let the hairs clog the hair.

I am SO happy we got the tubshroom! I had a baby 3 months ago, and the post partum hormones make my hair fall out by the bunch! I could probably make 2 birds nests with how much comes out! (I still have tons of hair thank goodness! 😊)
Since I lose SO much hair, it is impossible for the water to drain like normal even with the tubshroom. So yes, the water backs up on ME in the shower. After every shower, I wait for the water to drain to take all the hair to the tubshroom, I use a papertowel and throw away the hair. I then rinse the tubshroom and put it back. Every one in this house is so happy bc I don't leave hidden clumps of hair every where! I use the shower head and wet thh entire shower to take any little hair down to the tubshroom. My shower is clean!!

No one else has water back up on them. I have two girls, and a husband with long hair, it flows freely since they're not losing an absurd amount of hair.

I was a bit skeptical of this item, but decided to try it based on the reviews. I am stunned at the amount of hair it catches on a daily basis. How is it I'm not bald? It's a bit gross when you pull it out of the drain, because everything that isn't water sticks to it. I usually run it under water for a bit to wash away the soap and dead skin scum, then use a piece of toilet paper to wipe it off the TubShroom. Works like a charm.

Also, as far as color - I am very glad I ordered gray. Someone else commented that the color blended in with the chrome of the drain, and I'm so glad I got that feedback. I was seriously thinking about ordering the clear, but I'm now convinced any color other than gray would be a mistake.

I can't say enough GOOD things about this tub drain. Both of the tubs in my house have the really old drains (the kind where you have to hold the plate with one hand and use the other to twist the knob off and once that's done unscrew the rest of the drain). The kids have the tub/shower and the clogged hair in the drain has really become a pain. I had one of those horrible yellow plastic teeth "combs" that you stick down the drain and rip the hair out - never worked. This was SO easy to use that my teen installed it. No more issues with hair clogging the drain - oh what a relief. I wish they could do the same with shower drains too.

I bought this for our bathtub/shower. My husband is a very hairy man and the drain was always getting clogged with hair and it was disgusting to have to clean it. You might have to clean it every time, but it is not that hard to do unless you find reaching down hard work. I put this in and now all he has to do it take it out after each shower and wipe the hair off with some toilet paper or paper towel and toss it in the trash and put the TubShroom back in the drain. It might seem like a pain for some people to do this but compared to what we used to deal with this is pretty darn handy! I am glad I saw this on Amazon and tried it.
Update: I am still loving it! But I did not realize that there was a third Shroom! The TubShroom is the one I currently have, it works but it is a little small for the drain so I have it sitting in there a little crooked but it does the job. (No clogs since I put it in). So, I have now ordered the ShowerShroom because is it a little bigger (2") and I think it will better fit into the drain. I will put the old one into the tub in the other bathroom now.

This is going to sound like a fake review, but honestly this is one of my favorite inventions ever. I used to hate, hate, hate, cleaning off my old shower drain of all my hair, soap, and shampoo. I have long, thick hair and I'd usually have to get a pair of scissors out and actually cut away at it enough so I could pull it off with my fingers, all the while smelling a nasty smell and being disgusted. I grew up sharing a shower with three long, thick haired women, so this was a frequent task.

But no more with the Tub Shroom! Now I just pull it out, easily wipe the hair off with a paper towel, and drop it right back in the drain. Overall it takes about 5 seconds and I don't even have time to get grossed out. Bonus is no more stubbing your toe on the hard metal drain...you'll just hit nice soft silicone.

It's pathetic and embarrassing how much I love this product.

3 girls... need I say more. I was having to use my shop vac on a monthly basis to suck the hair and conditioner out of my shower drain. Using this bad boy, and i couldn't be happier. I have yet to have a clogged drain. I'd post pictures of the hair that i pull off of this, but i wouldn't want to disgust you. If you get hair in your drains, use this product. AWESOME
