I ordered the Tubbs poles hoping they would arrive before my scheduled snowshoe/ski trip. They did! The poles were exactly what I was looking for. I used them for snowshoeing and my friend borrowed them for x-country skiing. They were wonderful. I fully recommend the 3-piece poles.

These three piece poles are well made and easy to adjust. They stay put when you lock them in and they are very light weight. One suggestion would be to come with an extra set of baskets, or at least have an option to order a second set of baskets when you order the poles.

I love these poles. The adjusters stay put, if you remember to tighten them every several hours. (My wife bought a less expensive brand that pulls out easy and extends if she hooks them on brush or punches them into crusty snow.) The hand grips are very comfortable and "grippy."

We use them for snowshoeing and they are awesome. If we don't need them they can folded up and put in backpack. I could see them for trekking, but removing the baskets is not easy. They are difficult to put on in the first place. The only other downside is that the locking mechanism can be over-tightened making it really difficult to loosen unless you possess pliers. So, sometimes I find that we have not tightened them enough because we are concerned we will over-tighten them.

PROS: Adjustable. Fold-able for easy storage. Strong.
CONS: Hard to remove baskets if you wanted to. Locking mechanism not perfect.

So far these seem pretty good. They are light and come with wide buckets for snow. They are the twist type and I guess most everyone knows what you are getting, but the down side is that sometimes they can be difficult to loosen and adjust. I also sometimes was spinning them when I was standing and noticed it was causing them to loosen. I know it sounds counter intuitive to complain simultaneously that they are too loose and too tight, but I call 'em like I see 'em. I guess carrying something to grip them or just loosen and tightening them every so often so that they don't get stuck would probably alleviate that. After using them a while I'm sure a sweet spot will be found as well between under and over tightening. The plastic material for the handgrips seems kinda cheap, kinda like the material used on old steering wheels that easily deteriorates. Time will tell.

Tubbs snowshoe 3 piece pole is exactly like described. Awesome. I'm a snowboarder and they are efficient cause I can stow them away and made of extremly sturdy material. Thanks.

Don't waste your time or money. Purchase Atlas brand instead.
This was a Defective Product!!!
The threading on the plastic disc was defective. Therefore, the disc would not stay on the pole.
Anyone who has snowshoed knows that you NEED the disc, otherwise the pole will just sink through the snow.

Work perfectly for snowshoeing. Don't tighten too much or its a pain to get loosened in the cold (but on the flip-side they hold well and don't need to constantly be readjusted).
