This was a tight squeeze in my cage (the doors are a bit harder to close), but that's actually a plus, because I know my rats can't find a way around or under it. It's deep enough to hold a lot of bedding, and should prevent most digging and flinging related messes, but it still fits under the shelf on the middle setting. It's very thick, so my chewers will have a lot of work cut out for them if they want to accomplish much of anything.
I only have two complaints about this. The first is that it limits the way you can set up your cage. The curved sides end up raising the ramp too high for it to sit properly. (I think I will end up moving the shelf up to the highest setting and see how that works out.) And there's really no way to make a regular water bottle accessible from the bottom level. (You could probably make it work with a Critter Nation, though.) Granted, that's not a very big deal, all things told. It's just something to be aware of. And the second is that this thing stinks when it arrives. Quite a bit actually. I left it outside overnight to air out, and it still smelled the next day. I let it sit for three more days before moving it into my cage, and even then it was a little iffy. It's been about four days since then and it's fine now, though it doesn't smell great up close. I imagine it will get better with time, but it was pretty awful to begin with. If you have any reason to use this inside your house (especially for a pet), I would leave it outside for at least a few days. Don't even open it inside (I seriously regretted that, myself). The odor is the reason I've given four stars instead of five.
Edit: The price on this has gone up to forty dollars, when I originally purchased it for around twenty five. I wouldn't buy this at that price, as it can be found cheaper.
