We have this sea creature and the toucan. In the past we had an alien and a crocodile. Both of those lasted a pretty long time, considering her love of picking a hole in toys and ripping stuffing out. The alien lasted longer of those two. I figured out the trick to these (for our dog) is to find those with minimal weak points. For example, the alien was very like this toy, but it had an sewn-in mouth that had an open look. The material in that mouth area was weaker than the rest and she zeroed in on it in a fair amount of time.
A tip for dog parents who have issues with their pets murdering their toys: if they pull stuffing out, keep the shell and restuff it (no need to sew it shut). We did just that with a crocodile from this company she had previously. While it meant picking up all the stuffing off the floor and restuffing that one, we would *put it up for a month or two* at a time. When I didn't mind the mess for a few hours, I'd ask her if she wanted her "murder toy". Maybe she outgrew the habit a bit, but I swear having that toy set aside for that purpose and cheering her on in killing that one toy over and over helped break her of doing it with flimsier toys unless she's given permission.
In any case, I think this brand makes fab toys for most dogs. Maybe not *all* but most.Read more ›
Update to 4 stars after 3 months:
Although it was disappointing when our corgi managed to pull all the stuffing out in just a few days, she has continued to enjoy playing with it for the past few months. The squeakers in the tentacles all still work, and the toy is holding up pretty well. Our dog is a very strong tugger and chewer, and hasnt managed to tear any of the tentacles yet. I wish they sold this toy without any stuffing to begin with, but I think we got our money's worth.
This is, however, a puppy toy for aggressive chewing or really mouthy breeds. For grown dogs, the "Mega" series is less likely to disappoint. And if your dog is an obsessive stuffed-toy-killer, things like heavy rope toys and sisal tugs are a better choice - or puzzle toys. :)

My 6 month old lab/boarder collie had a hole chewed in the top within 7 mins (yes, I timed it). I really wish I could find a toy that she can't destroy... oh well ;-( !!Published 2 days ago by Deann Silkenson
This is not for puppies. It is not a tough toy as advertised. The thread is popping and the fabric is spreading.Published 9 days ago by Leah
It didn't even last 24 hours with my Bichon. Looking at it, you would've thought that a steak was rubbed all over it and a pack of wolves were fighting over it.Published 27 days ago by Kamille L.
only toy that my mastiff hasnt destroyed in minutes--going on 6 months and while it does show wear and tear, still ok for dog to play withPublished 2 months ago by Oilyocean
My dog loved it, but ate a hole in it as soon as he decided to remove the noise maker inside. Tuffy is not so tough.Published 2 months ago by Melvin Osborne
This is one of my lab's go to fetch toys and favorite to carry around the house. Unfortunately this octopus is not as durable as claimed. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Marissa
