I have researched many airlines' luggage dimension, and it turned out the 22" x 14" x 9" is the size that most any international as well as domestic airlines will accept.
This slim version is 21.75" x 15.75" x 8" as double confirmed on Tumi's website. That means, if the flight staff or the airport security check some where in Asia tells you that you can't carry this on, then you might have to go back to the airline and check it in again, and possibly pay for a 3rd luggage piece if you already have 2 other ones.
However, if it is Europe, seems like some airlines such as Ryanair requires 55cm x 40cm x 20cm, which is 21.65 x 15.75 x 7.87 inch. So it looks like the 15.75 width carry on luggage, including Rimowa, are for European airlines.
So for USA and Asia, just get the standard Tumi International carry on instead, which is exactly 22 x 14 x 9, which is so listed as on Amazon and on Tumi's website.
For Europe, get this Tumi slim version and there is a small chance that it won't be allowed. Get one that will for sure fit. Rimowa Topas has one that is 21.7 x 15.7 x 7.9 inch and it looks like it is specially tailored for European airlines. In fact, if I go to Rimowa's website and pretend that I am from UK, then it will list the luggage as 55 x 40 x 20 cm.
I also went to Tumi's UK site and saw that this luggage is 55 x 40 x 20.5 cm... so it is just 0.5cm thicker than the acceptable size... 0.5cm is how much? iPhone 5s's thickness is 0.76cm... so 0.5cm is less than the thickness of an iPhone 5s... so I will bet you can compress it a little and fit into the iron cage the security check use to check for the sizes.
