Tegra-lite is a breakthrough travel collection that combines the highest levels of durability and impact resistance with the ultimate in lightweight ease and maneuverability. Tegra-lite is made from tegris, a revolutionary polypropylene thermoplastic composite material created by milliken for use in lifesaving armor, nascar race cars and protective gear for nfl players; it is exclusive to tumi for travel and accessory products around the world. This lightweight, hardside carry-on is our most compact wheeled carry-on design for those who travel domestically and internationally. It has four 360° swivel wheels for effortless maneuverability. Among the many technological and functional advancements of tegra-lite is tumi's patented x-brace 45 handle system that adds structural rigidity to the case and prevents damage to the handle. The cases are lined and feature interior accessory pockets and tie-down straps, tsa integrated locks and exterior bumpers for added protection

Debated between this, the continental version and the Vapor series.
I find this bag to be very durable and I'm not worried about marks which can affect the vapor series.
The choice between inter and continental size was difficult, but after making my first trip with this bag I know I have made the correct decision. I was getting very annoyed with
my old check in, never knowing if it was going to fit the overhead, not knowing if it was going to be valet check in, just never knew..
First flight with this bag regional flight from ORD to MDT, seats 1 passenger on one side, and 2 on another. Its a small plane! I'm 6"4 and had to duck just to get through.
Both times the attendants said I would have "to red tag it" as they said "it would not fit". Luckily, I knew the exact dimensions of this bag and felt confident that it would. I said, just let me try.
Again, first time with this luggage and first time with this trip.
Yes, it FIT!!! When I was leaving the plane there was a line of 15 people waiting to get their bags from "valet", and they just stared at me as I easily rolled off.
THe bag is exactly what's needed, its much smaller than my previous carry on, but this one will actually fit the overhead! For me, I always overpack anyways, so this bag has me being just a bit more picky in what I bring, but it has really worked out for the better. I use another Tumi tote for my extra bag for the very long week + trips, otherwise, i just bring a t-tech brief for shorter trips.
If you are debating whether to go with the conti vs inter. I would say WITHOUT A DOUBT go with the INTERNATIONAL size!!! IT fits every plane, you won't have to worry about checking anything in, and it will simply make your packing much more efficient! As long as you have another bag with you for week long breaks, you will be set!
Also, did I mention this bag is a looker? It is a beautifully piece of equipment (I'm an audiophile and love understated tech). It feels and looks amazing. I really feel like a
million bucks walking around with this.
I couldn't be happier, absolutely a great purchase for those whom want a little bit of style, flare, and utility when they travel :)
I debated whether to get this "international" size, or the slightly larger "continental" carry-on that Tumi offers. I went with the smaller size to reduce the likelihood that my bag would have to be checked when flying on aircraft with smaller-than-normal overhead bins. I also wanted to force myself to take less stuff when I travel.
This is my first hard-side carry-on, and I am finding it harder than I expected to get used to the absence of exterior pockets. While there's a nice interior compartment for your tablet, you have to remember to get your iPad (and whatever else you might need during a flight) out of the bag before you board the plane. Getting access to such items during a flight is not just a matter of reaching into the side pocket: you have to remove the bag from the overhead bin, unzip the bag, and and then flip it open. This is is an issue with all hard-sided bags, not just this Tumi model. But it's something to consider if you're accustomed to carry-ons with exterior compartments.
Overall, I'm very happy with this bag.
Took it on a single trip and the handle no longer goes in and out. It says out. Very hard to put in the overhead with the handle extended. And of course, my first trip with it was more than 30 days after I bought it and now it is not eligible for a return to this seller. Be careful with this item and this tight of a return policy.
Other than the grossly overpriced merchandize, this bag fits the bill even though the zippers are less than cooperative when trying to open or close the case.
In summary. Look for something a heck of a lot less expensive, especially if the intent is only to meet "The New Standard".
