The cords on these are loooooooong. Way over half my height. They seem very secure and the tubes are smooth.
They have a pretty good point on the tip, which makes it easier to pick out the posts and loops. Easy to hold, they don't slip around in the hand. They don't flare in the middle which is great for tunisian crochet.
Two bad things, at least for me, are the short hook depth and a little hole from the mold (I'm assuming). I'm an intermediate crocheter so this just might be my issue, but the hook depth is very shallow. With my tunisian crochet, when making the return pass, pulling the hoops through was very hard as the yarn kept slipping off the hook. I was able to fix it by first melting the plastic with a heated thin metal rod. Then I used a fine glass nail file to smooth out the ridges and was also able to level out the lip of the hole from the mold.
In the pictures, the blue one is the one I altered and the pink is what original depth is. The blue is a 6.5mm and the pink is 10mm, for a sense of scale.
In the single pink photo, that's the little hole I mentioned, it wouldn't have been a problem except that there was a very small lip of excess plastic that catches on the yarn.
All in all, I like the hooks and will finish modifying the rest of them. I will say that if you are working with delicate yarns or ones that are prone to catching, I probably wouldn't use these on those types of yarn, unless you polish/file them down with very fine grits. As I'm just using cheap acrylics/acrylic blends, they are standing up fairly well.
