It can be hard to lose yourself in a book when you have to keep stopping and doing double takes due to bad editing. Reviewer Tracey gives a few of the many errors you will find in this book, but I would like to add that entire words are missing here and there, rendering sentences completely meaningless. The flow of the story is constantly interrupted by these errors.

I also agree with Tracey about the consistency problems with character development. Amaya goes from sheltered and terrified to aggressive and predatory in what seems only minutes. Tereq and Vasco are basically the same character (which happens to be a very unimaginative and stereotypical cruel and brutal vampire without any personality). There just seems to be a lack of depth.

The storyline is somewhat creative, and I think I would enjoy reading this book if the execution were better, so 3 stars it is.

The plot was ok...but the writing was childish. Come on authors.....can we have some decent writing? Then the next book to this series is less than 150 pages long! Get out of town. The first book was free....but then the author wants 3.00 for a the next book in the series which is 1/3 of a real book. Looser. Do not waste your money. There are plenty of good authors out there....but not with this series.

Reign and Arellano wrote a great story- the old fashioned blood thirsty vampire story. Intermixed with that is the story of how 2 children raised in seclusion found their way into and part of this world. This is the story of their turning- how they anticipated it, how they endured it and how it changed their personalities and shaped their futures.

As to any errors, I didn't notice. But then again I was reading for story not editing. I am also a fan of another vampire and angel story writer whose characters not only have their own language, they have a totally different spelling dictionary than Webster ever intended. Please folks, if you are going to read indie writers, then remember that to keep their books affordable, there isn't a staff of 20 editors going over every word. Speeling (pun intended) errors happen. Their editors do a great job so do give them a break.

The story is good, the characters are intriguing and you will want to read books 2 and 3. Apollo's character will draw you in, the Sambras will repulse you or maybe like any outcast you will pity their fate, and you will wonder about Sophie.

This was a very entertaining take on the vampire genre, which I happen to read a lot of....I did not notice any of the editing errors that one reviewer complained of. The SOMBRAS were great, nice new take! My only complaint is the ridiculous relationship between Apollo and his girlfriend love of five seconds...that relationship was totally unrealistic in my opinion and put me off from the story a bit. Overall, it was a pleasurable few hours and I would recommend this book. Thanks for the free offering and the opportunity to share.

Two human twins (a boy and a girl) are raised together and protected by a vampire clan. As they approach their 18th birthday they discover that their father and friends are vampires who feed off of, and kill prey locked away in a nearby cave.

They are punished and are brought to a ceremonial alter to be turned into vampires on the night of the 18th birthday.

It is discovered that the boy is stronger and fiercer than all of them because of his mother's werewolf gene and he doesn't agree with what the vampire clan he was raised with.

I must admit, this book was awesome. It had a different aspect on vampires that I truly enjoyed. I was left wanting more. As the twins, Apollo and Amaya, lived with their vampire dad, they were destined to be 'turned' at the age of 18. The lived with the clan that took them in at birth, under the condition that they would be part of the vampires clan as vampires. This story held a lot of emotion upon the twins learning of the 'ceremony' of their 18th birthday. The ending was very good. This book was very action packed. Very thrilling. I really liked this book. I definitely recommend this.

As the book was free, I have to say, the only thing I wasted was time, and I spent little of that. I was only able to bear a few dozen pages of the book - which isn't like me at all. I can usually trudge through almost anything. This was an exception. My recommendation is don't bother unless your IQ is sub-par or you have a penchant for self abuse.

This is my first book by this author and I will definitely be reading more. I loved the characters in this book. Over the eighteen year period covered they grew in so many directions...together. as a family but so differently and apart as individuals. I can wait to start the next one.
