Turquoise Tower by Travis Simmons is the last book in the Revenant Wyrd Saga. We find out exactly what happened to Amber and believe me when I tell you that you will be thrown for a loop! I don’t want to give any spoilers away but I have to say that the ending was NOTHING like I expected it to be. Actually, I was a tiny bit disappointed at first. But that is because it didn’t end quite like I wanted it to. The ending was a bit weird. But after finishing the story and thinking about it, it all made perfect sense and the ending was fantastic!
With that said, that doesn’t mean that I didn’t like the book. I did. Once you start reading you don’t want to put it down. You will be captivated from the very beginning. It was just as jam packed with action and mystery and magic as the others in the series. In the Turquoise Tower we really see good versus evil. There are white angels and dark angels and there is death and misery. It stays true to the entire series and we learn a lot more, as we did in #5, about the brother and sisters and their mom. We see them deal with learning about how they came to be and just who they really are.
This is NOT a stand alone book. In fact, I wouldn’t recommend trying to read any of the 6 as stand alone books. If you want to check it out, you should really start with book 1. If you love fantasy and magic, you will LOVE The Revenant Wyrd Saga by Travis Simmons!
Travis Simmons did do a great job of keeping my attention. I could not put the book down once I started. I guess you call me an addict. I'm definitely addicted to this series, and just a little upset that it has come to an end. I can't wait to see what Travis Simmons writes next. So far, I've liked everything that I've read by him.
As with the other books, it will be a little confusing if you have not read the other books. I definitely would not read this book alone. I strongly urge to pick up and read the whole series. If you like fantasy books, you will love this one.
I have to give this one 4 stars just because I was still left with questions at the end of the book. This is not appropriate for all ages because there is some mature content that parents might not want their children reading.
I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own.
The Turquoise Tower is book six and the final book of The Revenant Wyrd Series. This novel continues where book 5 left off. The Lafaye children along with Maeven, Shelara, Caldemon, and Russell are headed to the Turquoise Tower, but first make a stop at the city of angels, where they battle a rephraim. Meanwhile Grace, Dalah, Roselee and the Guardians make their way to the Ivory City with Mag and Astanel in tow to prepare for the battle of their lives.
This was a bittersweet moment for me as I loved this series so much. As much as I wanted to read the outcome, I’m truly saddened to see it end. These were characters I’ve been completely intrigued by and I hated to see them go. I saw them grow into strong courageous people. Once again, Travis Simmons doesn’t disappoint! There’s nonstop edge of your seat excitement, it was very hard to put down. All of our questions are answered and I was even surprised by things I didn’t see coming. What more can I say? This was an amazing epic fantasy about good versus evil, one I’m sure everyone will enjoy!
Simmons, as usual, does a fantastic job of drawing me into his fantasy laden world. I feel as though I am connected to Joya, Jovian, and Angelica. Their story, although not technically possible in real life has elements that I can connect with on an emotional level. I feel their needs and desires, and they are matched by needs and desires in my own life. The need to see the journey through to its end, the need to keep a hold of family no matter what. The themes are central to everyday life even when the setting is a different as could be.
The siblings, well three of them are still in search for Amber, will they manage to rescue her though? There is so much more happening in this book and things that didn't make sense in previous books now make sense. It all wraps up properly without the let down feeling at the end.
I have really enjoyed this series and I really love Travis Simmons writing style. I will definitely be looking out for more books from this author in the future.
