Hardback Leather Case
Hardback Cover Softens the Blows.
Protecting your MacBook is a top priority and it’s job one for BookBook. Slip your Mac inside the velvety soft, padded interior. Zip it closed and your baby is nestled between two tough, rigid leather hardback covers for a solid level of impact absorbing protection. The rigid spine serves as crush protection for an additional line of defense. BookBook creates a hardback book structure that safeguards your MacBook like few other cases can. Far better than any floppy neoprene bag ever will. End of story.

The Real Story. No Two Are Alike.
Each BookBook is brought to life with hand craftsmanship and distressing, ensuring no two are exactly alike. From dual zippers with leather pulls, that at first glance look like bookmarks, to the sturdy reinforced hardback covers, BookBook is a vintage work of art built to protect modern day Macs. The classic case was designed to be used two ways. Use it as a traditional sleeve or use the elastic corner clips to hold your MacBook in place while you work with it in BookBook. Dual zippers allow you to charge your MacBook while it safely stays inside BookBook. This case is designed with good looks and smart functionality, cover to cover.
BookBook is the Perfect Disguise.
One of the neatest features of BookBook is the stealthy security it delivers. No one will see your MacBook when it's tucked inside BookBook, even when it's right under their nose. Sitting on a coffee table, dorm room or desk, BookBook looks like a vintage piece of literature, not an expensive laptop. It’s a great disguise and a simple way to reduce the risk of your MacBook getting stolen.

What is the benefit to keeping my MacBook Pro in BookBook?
Chances are, a big part of your life - photos, music, work, school work and other important documents - is stored on your MacBook Pro. It’s critical to protect it as best you can. BookBook is a hardback case with a leather spine that offers superior protection as you shuttle your MacBook Pro from place to place.
How is BookBook different from other cases?
Along with a totally unique look, BookBook protects your MacBook Pro in three ways. First, its hardback sides with reinforced corners protect from impacts encountered on your daily commute. Second, the vintage designed spine provide crush protection. Third, BookBook disguises your MacBook Pro from being seen. Safely stowed inside, your MacBook Pro looks like a vintage book left on a desk or table, reducing the odds of someone stealing it.
What size BookBook do I need for my MacBook Pro?
To determine what size BookBook you need for your MacBook Pro, open your Mac and measure the lit portion of your screen (not including the black bezel). Screens measuring 13.3" fit the 13-inch BookBook, 15.4" screens are compatible with our 15-inch BookBook, while our 17-inch BookBook is for those with 17" screens.
Is BookBook compatible with the new 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display (Pro with RD)?
The new Pro with RD does fit in our BookBook for MacBook, although the corner clips that secure the case to the screen are not usable due to the difference in size of the new Pro with RD.
Can I use BookBook with other MacBooks or notebooks?
We recommend and support the use of BookBook with the Apple MacBook Pros. Unfortunately, we cannot currently recommend the use of BookBook with White MacBooks.
Is there a BookBook for iPad?
Yes. Check it out here.
Will BookBook fit in my computer bag?
A 13" MacBook with BookBook will fit inside a bag made for a 15" MacBook and a 15" MacBook with BookBook will fit inside a 17" bag. The bag should be the next size up from your MacBook.
Top customer reviews
Update: I promised to return to this later if my opinion changed from initial impression. After well over a year I'm happy to say that even after a wine spill at a cafe this has held up extremely WELL! The form is amazingly as good as when I received it and spills wiped right off without damage. I'm changing my review to 5 stars.
I placed my macbook in it, picked it up and the one thing that I can say is it makes your macbook pro HUGE, not heavy, just huge. Seriously. If you are a college student and have something like a calculus textbook, you need to think long and hard about whether or not you want to tote around what equates to another massive book.
In regards to the fit- I didn't get the sense that the zippers would last very long. For $80, this thing should last until your next laptop and be as close to a perfect fit as could be. I've always been a huge InCase fan because their stuff lasts and is high quality.
The zippers and teeth get caught when I'm trying to close the laptop. The zipper tabs feel like pleather dipped in red paint. When opening the case itself, I question how long the elastic bands (which only hold the screen aspect in place) will really last. In the end, what I'm really trying to convey is that while the product idea is fabulous, the construction seems sub-par in relation to what other sleeves and cases are able to achieve. I could've made something similar to this myself by spending 1/4th of the money. To the touch, it feels NOTHING like the bookbook case for the iphone 4, which is really what I expected/desired. Instead, you remove it from the cloth case, feel the weight of the case and say "Really? Is this what I paid for?".
Protection-wise...Sure, it works. It'll protect your computer from basic scratches and moisture etc.
Overall, if you're looking for a case that is stylish and really looks like an old library book, I guess you've found it. The cost is ridiculously prohibitive to the extent that you're probably better off buying two different cases for the same money. The $80 is for the look & design, but if you're a student looking to disguise your macbook, the zippers give it away completely. I wouldn't bet on this case making your device camouflage to anybody that has a brain.
My suggestion is to try it on for yourself, but don't be fooled. I'm returning it, and losing money on shipping costs for a product that I wanted to love.
