All-in-One Vintage Case
Will the BookBook for iPhone fit the new iPhone 4S?
Yes. The BookBook for iPhone 4 will fit both the iPhone 4 and the newly announced iPhone 4S.
What is the benefit to keeping my iPhone in BookBook?
Keeping your iPhone in this little book means you have one less thing to grab on the way out the door and one less item to stuff in your pockets or purse. BookBook for iPhone is a wallet and case packaged into one well designed, pocket-size book. It’s an easy way to simplify your life. And if you ever misplace your wallet, you can use 'Find My iPhone' to find it!
Can I access the controls and charge/sync my iPhone inside BookBook?
Yes. You can access all controls on your phone while it’s in BookBook and you can charge/sync your iPhone with the wallet open or closed. Unlike bumper style cases, there are no frames to get in your way.
Will BookBook for iPhone 4/4S fit earlier generations of iPhone or an iPod Touch?
BookBook for iPhone is designed exclusively for iPhone 4/4S and therefore will not fit the original iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS or iPod Touch.
How many cards and how much cash can BookBook for iPhone hold?
BookBook for iPhone can comfortably hold three to four cards, along with a couple folded bills of cash, receipts or business cards inside the vertical pocket.
I don’t see a hole for the camera. Do I have to remove iPhone when I take pictures or videos?
No. Simply pull the quick tab and slide your iPhone up 1/2 inch to expose the lens, then snap a quick picture or video.
Will the iPhone demagnetize my credit cards?
No. The BookBook for iPhone does not contain any magnets whatsoever. The iPhone does not create or use magnetic material of any appreciable size either. If it did, it would interfere with the iPhone’s own internal Compass. Apple even warns against using any case with magnets. Finally the notion that a cell phone could ever erase the magnetic strip on a credit card may be more myth than reality. Extensive internal testing has reaffirmed, credit cards will not be erased by being held in close proximity to your iPhone in a BookBook for iPhone.
The cover of my BookBook for iPhone won't lay flat, is this normal?
Just like a pair of leather shoes, the cover of your BookBook for iPhone will "break in" over time to lay flat. One way to expedite this process is to lay your BookBook front cover down whenever you place your BookBook on a table or flat surface.

Update 8/17/12 This product now has 6 cards and my drivers license without adding much bulk. It really is an all-in-one solution. However the spine of the case is showing exceptional wear. Not sure if this is from bending it backwards to use the phone or not. Otherwise still satisfied with product and functionality.
Then time happened. The plastic edging where the phone rests became unglued from the leather, it no longer fit snuggly. The top of the phone, the tab that holds the phone in the case also started to seem to get looser, though I was not sure. My suspicions were confirmed when yesterday the tab came undone and my phone FELL OUT of the case on its own and the screen cracked. Yes you heard right, the tab that was supposed to keep the phone in the case failed and the phone gracefully slipped out of the case onto the street. While I can deal with glue coming undone ( I can superglue it myself), the failure of the tab is a major design flaw. A phone should not be able to fall out of its case, this negates the entire purpose for a case. If the company would make a latch or button on the tab that would ensure that the phone would stay in the case it would make the case much safer, as of now all I can show for this case is a month of good use followed by a cracked screen.
I loved the innovative design of the phone and the leather but was incredibly disspointed with the durability (glue issues) and design (lacking the ability to hold the phone in the case). I wanted so much to like this case but now all I have is a cracked screen and a case that looks like it's 15 years old (unglued portions of the case).
The only thing I'm disappointed in is the lack of camera hole. And mind you, the detailed description absolutely says that you need to pull the camera out to take photos, so it's nothing that the company misrepresented. I'd just think there *should* be a way for them to put a hole in the back cover for the camera. The back cover seems sturdy enough that it would still hold up well, even though the hole would have to be a bit larger than normal around the lens and flash due to the thickness. It just seems like something that could be fixed easily enough to allow an all-around great product with no limitations.
This is a poorly made poisonous piece of junk. I paid 60 dollars for it too. I am VERY disappointed in Amazon for allowing this product to even be sold. After years of buying products from Amazon I am realizing that the latest products I have been receiving have been faulty, defective and poorly made. Not to mention all the unchallenged false descriptions of items on this site.
from the start, i have liked this case. there are some ergonomic and functional issues that you must simply live with.
jury is still out whether i keep it or not.
basically i agree with the other posts for this product. i love the style - not a techno grip.
so all the good things you read are ok. it's snug in the holder with only a mechanical tab to fix it in place - no snaps (which i hate).
seems to be very protected in the case.
so i'll give some other feedback about it that might help purchasers
bought mine in the apple store, so i could look at it and handle it a bit before buying.
1. i have 3 cards in it and the lid sorta 'springs' open. probably will close naturally when the leather breaks in, but who's to really know that when you first get it?
i think an elastic band running vertically about 3/4" from the right edge acting as a closure would be nice. like maybe an elastic band found on little black books or art books or something
the band would help keep it folded open, too. as is, there is no way to keep it from just popping open: consider what would happen if you dropped it.
nothing holds the cover in place preventing a glass nick or scratch or worse.if it could be kept closed, it would be more secure:
2. the packaging shows a $10 bill in the inner pocket. huh. now *that's* a deceptive photo. being a photographer, i know a doctored photo when i see it.
i think they used scissors on that bill to get it the right size to fit. if you fold up a few bills in half they will a) add *significant* bulk to the bookbook and
b) stick out about 3/16" from the pocket and c) be super hard to get out and back in easily.
