Twenty Yawns This was a very sweet book. The pictures are well done with great colors. There are good family values - the whole family plays together at the beach and mom reads to Lucy before bed. My only reason for giving it 4 stars instead of 5 was because it is a very short book with only 19 pages. I thought was a little strange that dad was in PJs and went to sleep in a chair in the living room, and mom was in her nightclothes and went to sleep in a chair while reading to Lucy. Lucy did get to go to her bed (in the moonlight) with all her loved animals.

It was a cute bedtime book - I think it was a little too short because at first I felt there was going to be an actual story but there really wasn't - which is fine - I guess I just expected more of a story to go along with the book. My kids liked it - it was a good book to satisfy the "just one more" story plea! 🌝

I prefer reading paper books to my kids, but this is a great little backup to have on my phone. I read it to my 3 1/2-year-old today as an emergency nap story (no other books available) and he paid close attention, which I take to mean that he enjoyed it. I thought the pictures were lovely and the gentle storyline was sweet and perfect for sleepy time. It captures a feeling that makes me nostalgic for my own childhood. I would recommend this book to parents of young children (1-6, depending on your child's level of interest).

I read this book to my son and daughter. We couldn't agree on how many stars to rate it. My son gave it 1 star because he thought it was too plain and boring. My daughter gave it 5 stars because she liked the character and could relate to her animal friends. I gave it 4 stars because it served it's purpose in making at least one of my kids yawn through the book and right to sleep, yet I agree that the story was kind of boring, which was probably the goal for a bedtime book.

This was a little glitchy on kindle. The story moves well, from high action to low action. The series of events are easily identifiable to a three year old. My nephew became very involved with it. This made him follow the end of action and take a nap like Lucy but in the middle of the day. It's a little more time consuming than slipping a drop of whiskey in his juice but a lot more effective. I'm very pleased. (Btw, I never actually spiked the kid's drink, only thought about it.)

I bought this for my little godchildren. I finally read it to them and they seemed to enjoy it. It should have downloaded to their kindles, too. My only complain is that the printing is so small that I had trouble reading it without my glasses which I didn't have with me. Also, I liked that the little girl in the story looked like my goddaughter while I am white like the father while her grandmother and parents are black like the mother in the story. Thus she sees a mixed family which we are, too.

I bought the book to share with my almost 4 year old grandson and we enjoyed reading it together. The story was very charming and he was able to relate to story. He was humored and agreed that all that play can begin to make you tired. He was so happy with one more example of family time and the good night with all the stuffed friends. The pictures were also well received and sparked comments from him. We will enjoy this book together again, he is already asking for more yawns!

An entertaining story to read to children as they go to bed. The art is very well done and captures the author's intent of lulling kids to sleep. They say that yawning is contagious, so when you read this book and you exemplify and pantomime each time characters yawn in the book, there might be a good chance you're little ones will be ready to sleep by the time it's over. Just make sure they have their cuddly toys with them to relate to the young girl at the heart of this story. A good read for a good night.
