About the Author

Carl "Tuchy" Palmieri was born in 1942 in an old mansion belonging to the former mill owner of the factory where his father worked. His family was one of six related families that occupied the mansion. The second son of Italian immigrants, Carl grew up in Westport, Connecticut. After receiving a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Bridgeport he began his career marketing and installing accounting computers for the Burroughs Corporation. Twenty-one years later, in 1987, he started his own computer business. Carl is also the author of a series of self-help books. Today Carl lives with his wife, Susan, in Fairfield, Connecticut. He has three children, two stepchildren, and 12 grandchildren. His nickname, Tuchy, comes from having been one of three Carls in his family. There was a "Big Carl," a "Carl the Twin," and "Carluch," which meant "Little Carl." "Carluch" evolved into "Carlatuch," "Tuch," and finally, "Tuchy."

This is an excellent book for those who have lost their faith along the way. In Twice Born Ministers: We Are All Ministers, the stories of men who had lost their way and faith only to rediscover it later are shared. I found these stories to be very spiritually uplifting and helped me to discover a renewed belief that we all have a purpose and calling in life. If you know anyone or you yourself are interested in becoming a minister this is the perfect book to read. It would be the perfect book for any Christian who is feeling lost or unsure of their place in this world and is losing faith.

So often we look to priests and ministers as people who are 100% certain in their faith. Of course this really isn't the case as these people are just like everyone else. Priests and men and women of the clothe can have crises of confidence just as easily and this book details how 12 ministers might have been on the edge but were able to pull themselves back with God's help, saving people along the way.

This particular book was recommended to me and I'm certainly going to recommend it to others.

Twice Born Ministers is a very compelling book, which was suggested by a dear friend of mine that has in his own right become a twice-born minister, you could say. Shoemaker has compiled 12 stories of people who have re-found their faith and moved on to help others repair and grow in their own faith and beliefs. In this day and time, it can be difficult to hold your faith when it seems the world is in total despair around you. This book will give you a new insight and faith.

If you ever thought that you were somehow less of a Christian for doubting your faith, this book will put those thoughts at ease. This book talks about ministers that doubted their faith at one point in time. It also explains what they did to get out of that rut. This book is a must read for all people that consider themselves religious.

Carl "Tuchy" Palmieri does it again! The republishing of this book, "Twice Born Men", comes at a time that many of the recollections within the pages are being experienced yet again. Our economy's current state plays a role in all aspects of life, including that of the Church. Surprising? Not really. Think about it...the budget for the Church is mostly generated from the donations it pulls in. If your pocket is empty, theirs is not far behind. The same goes for the moral and sense of fellowship. If the collective you are down and out in spirit, these ripples can be felt by the entire congregation. Add this to the everyday human stresses experienced by each of us and you have the formula for testing even the most devote. But, their journeys do not end on this sad note; they instead toil on to show the end results that a true labor of love can bring.

Although originally taking placing many years ago, the stories can positively impact upon the lives of today's clergy as well as their followers. Take a moment to see the trials in which these community leaders as placed through a new set of eyes.

This book, which has been republished by Tuchy Palmieri and Healing-Habits.com, is about several ministers on their journey to discovering their personal relationship with Jesus. All have the same basic theme, that their lives were missing something and it wasn't until they opened their hearts, that that void was filled. These accounts all come from men living in the early 1900's. Some of them were in America and others in Europe. The book itself was interesting, in that is gives the reader a glimpse into time gone by. Sometimes the book was challenging to keep up with due to the early 1900's dialect. My favorite chapter was about a young man who was brought up in a Christian home, served in the church and went to Seminary but still never had a personal relationship with Christ until he met other Born Again Christian. That amazed me that he fell through the cracks, so to speak, and never had that relationship even while serving in the Christian field.
I would recommend this book to someone who is interested in how some men came to find a personal relationship with Christ. It is heavy and slow, but still enlightens.

Too often, people sit in church and miss the real power of the Gospel. Whether we are distracted by what other people are wearing, our own problems, or the foot notes in our Bible, it is all too easy to walk out of a church service wondering where the last hour disappeared too. I've been guilty of that myself.

But isn't it amazing when we take the time to engage with the preacher and come away refreshed and renewed in our faith?! I can assure you I have been inspired by this reprinting by Tuchy Palmieri and Healing-Habits ministry. Biographies are a great way to bolster our faith and this book does just that.

From the very first story, I was pulled in and could feel parts of it resonating in my heart. If you have ever questioned the fervor and strength of your own faith or know someone who needs some uplifting, then you should get this book.

Despite being originally published in the late 1920's, the language is easy for the modern reader. And the stories of rebirth are, of course, timeless in their encouragement and admonition to examine your own heart.
