You start off in the "Funhouse", a zany, 4-tile offset from the main board where the tiles rotate whenever you move from 1 to the other. Once you get out of the funhouse, it's business as usual, only this time there are zombie clowns to deal with. The clowns look great and are fun to use, but they have the same exact stats as the normal zombies (when playing with the base game, we use the house rules that clowns are worth 2 pts but do 1 heart and 1 guts token worth of damage, since they're so creepy). I should note that every time you roll a 1 for movement, it's back to the funhouse again, which can get kind of annoying.
To win the game, you have to make it to the Big Top Tent, grab a clown car, and exit through the ticket booth. Whacky, but again, fun. If playing with the base game, it's actually recommended that you start in the circus and once you make it out past the ticket booth, that's when you start placing city tiles.
Overall, this is a fun little offshoot of the main game, and I enjoy playing it whenever I want a quicker version of Zombies!!! If nothing else, the zombie clown miniatures are great to add to your collection of other zombies.
Entirely forgettable otherwise.
I note on first reading of the rules and a quick demo that there is a possibility for one player to get trapped at the start with no way out (unless there is a playable card I didn't understand that can pull the escape out of his pointy hat).
The theme also does not play well into the other sets, but if fighting zombies on the midway is you thing, good luck and more power to your chainsaw. It sorta left me cold.
One point worth knowing: Although Twilight do offer Bag O Zombie Clowns and the Bag O Zombie Clowns Glowing (for those who prefer their undead clowns to be Secret Government Enhanced Zombie Clowns) you should be aware that the cost for these items works out to over four times that of any other of the Zombies!!! figures. You only get 25 in the base set and only get 25 in each bag. It goes without saying that if you join your circus to a town by combining sets, 25 clowns aren't nearly enough.
Although it is almost worth adding clowns to your regular set just so players can say "I've had enough of these clowns" or "Get a load of these clowns" before initiating combat.
Otherwise, this one leaves me unimpressed.
It adds a Carnival and Clowns. With endless possibilities the game is hours of fun! I'm so please with this game I bought all the expansions so don't be surprised if you see a review from me on each of them. If you are a fan of zombies this game is a must have! The art is wonderful. The figures well made. Don't forget to buy extra zombies cause you will need them and they are very inexpensive!

The Funhouse is a great concept. You'll have to play it to see why.Published 2 months ago by Lovecraft fan
How excited can you get about a card game....? I like the game...the cards need a nonslippery surface to lay on. They move about too much.Published on February 27, 2013 by Dainbramaged1
This is a stand alone game. You do not need to play it with the original zombies game! Actually I prefer it as a stand alone game. Clowns do come in the box with the game. Read morePublished on April 14, 2011 by Jen
