I love the Taser and Meatloaf books by JK Brandon. Great stories about the life of 2 dogs that tell their stories within their neighborhood and their lives. My daughter had a chocolate lab so I sometimes think of her when I read the conversations between the two dogs and their friends in the park. Little detective happenings, which I love. Light and airy books which is a nice break from the so serious detective books I usually read. Quick read that keeps the reader wanting more. I purchased 7 in the 9 books series and I am on my 4th book. My brother suggested these and I am glad that I found them.

I found the second book in this series even better than the first. This time one of the pack goes missing and Taser enlists the help of the other dogs to find him. Each of the dogs contribute according to their ability. Also, befriending the coyote mother pays big dividends in this quest. There is mystery, problem solving, humor and tragedy. A great story for any dog lover. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

I also read A Howl for Help and thought it couldn't be beat - I was highly surprised and delighted The Twilight Howl was just as exciting, funny and entertaining as the first book I read. I love this series and highly recommend it. I keep hoping for new ones to come out!

I am certainly hoping for many, many more stories about Taser and Meatloaf. This story is totally written from the point of view of Taser (a black lab) and centers around his bro (Meatloaf) who always has food on his mind and a bunch of his doggy pals (and a coyote) who solve mysteries. The dogs seem so real that you forget the reality. These two dogs are actually pets of the author, who has a website where you can watch a video of them (taken by a video cam on Taser's back). Read this and enjoy!

I loved the first book in this series. I couldn't put it down and just like the first this was a one sitting read. I have 3 dogs and I swear I see them in Taser and Meatloaf so much although mine aren't Labs. Like the 1st book there are several laughs and edge of your seat suspense. I was hanging by a thread when they were trying to save Harley. There is sadness in this book too, but that's life. It's an awesome read and one of my favorites; Mr. Brandon's books earned a treasured spot on my keep shelf.

These are really fun reads. Read the first three pages and didn't know if I would like the writing style or not. By the end of page six I was hooked. Just started book 4 on my second week of reading. Taser and Meat remind me so much of Labs I've had. Plots are really good. Very well written.

I have come to love dog sleuth Taser and Meatloaf as well as the other dogs from the dog park pack. This story is filled with canine heroism as well as some anthropomorphic dog humor. I especially enjoy the personalities JK Brandon has given the individual dogs; Winston the English bulldog with his British vernacular and presumably accent as well. These stories would make good family movies or television.

I sincerely hope that J.K. Brandon has a few more of these books in his plans and enjoys the good health and fortune to keep writing them. I also hope that he buys into some pharmaceutical stock for sleeping pills to counteract the effect these books have on me: I have to stay up all night reading them because I can't sleep for worrying about the dogs and the situations they get themselves into.
