By Mark Baker - Carstairs Considers HALL OF FAMETOP 500 REVIEWERVINE VOICE on August 28, 2003
Format: Audio CD
Shaun Groves returns with his second CD, and it's just as great as the first. Stylistically, it's less rock and more adult contemporary then his last one, but I enjoy that style of music more. Having said that, one of my favorites is "I Love You," the fastest song on the disc.
Thematically, he's once again covering every base, but with the same honesty that appeared in his first CD. "Need You More" is a perfect example, as he sings about his need of God above everything else. Obviously, "To Be Honest" also falls into this category. This powerful ballad is a confession and a struggle with the life he lives as a Christian artist. He also sings of his desire to be what God wants him to be in "Blank Page" and "Twilight."
There are also some songs of praise on the disc. Probably my favorite of these is "One of Those Days," a simple song of praise for those days when everything is going right. Continuing the Rocketown tradition of putting Christmas themed songs on regular CD's is "God of Us." And the disc concludes with a live version of "Here I Am," a prayer of dedication in response to what God has done for us. I'm sure it'll be sung in churches for years to come.
All told, this is a strong sophomore release. I know I'll be spinning it for quite some time.

Shaun Groves new CD, Twilight, is incredible. I have not taken it out of my CD player since I bought it. Not only are the melodies wonderful, but the lyrics are so meaningful. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys moving, powerful music. Buy several...you will want to give this one to everyone you know!!

Some people are stupid (i.e. - the guy who gave this album a 2) this album is great. Shaun really opens up in this album and shares what is on his heart. Sones like "Jesus" are very true and need to be listend to to APPLY the Gospel to life. these aren't just feel good about God songs, but will motivate us to LIVE the love of Christ.
I saw Shaun Groves in concert about 2 weeks ago with Ginny Owens and Shane and Shane here in Auburn, Alabama, and he's a REALLY funny guy. it was amazing how funny and insparational he is at the same time.
Get this album, cuz it's great. God is using Shaun Groves.

I just about wore out Invitation to Eavesdrop and was thrilled when Shaun's 2nd cd came out. The first time I listened to it I thought it was OK, but each time I listen to it I love it more and more. Now I am listening to it all the time, and loving every song!
