I don't normally write reviews, but with so many bad ones I just couldn't believe! I watched it all the way through before I wrote this and it is AMAZING. They had real values in these stories and great ironic twists just like the original. The production value is so great and the episodes leave you feeling like you have came straight out of the twilight zone. I watched all of the original as a child and I loved that too! I know it's different and there is some cussing, with some sexual themes but what tv show now a days doesn't have a little bit? And the people writing those bad reviews totally didn't watch these all the way through! If they had they would have gone NUTS for the last episode in this season. I cannot wait for season two. It is definitely worth the watch if your a fan of the old one and if you enjoy syfy!

I haven't watched every episode yet. So far the episodes are just nowhere near as good as the past Twilight Zone series. 60s, 80s, early-2000s, all of those were awesome. These 2019-2020 episodes just aren't as good. A few are ok, but none are really amazing -- except one. I just finished watching "Replay". I've been skipping around at random, just clicking on random episodes without knowing what they're about. I wasn't expecting such a heavy episode, or such an engaging one. I won't spoil any of it. I went into it not knowing a thing about the episode at all. I'd been playing episodes in the background while I work, but when "Replay" started, it pulled me in pretty quickly, and I couldn't take my focus off of it until it was over, and now it's over and I still can't take my focus off of it! Amazing episode. The actress who played the mom seems real, like it's really happening to her and not just a show. It's rare for me to be so engaged by an actor, but the mom really had me focused the whole time. She was like a real person, like someone I could know in reality.
Well, I will mention one thing that includes a spoiler, so don't read further if you haven't watched yet.

When the camera shattered, I actually gasped and my hand automatically went to my mouth, as though I were seeing a real camera drop in reality right in front of me. The episode is that engaging. That's when I realized how into this episode I was.

I grew up watching The Twilight Zone series since the 1960s. Rod Serling was an excellent host and creator of the show and Jordan Peele has done an excellent job reviving the series for a new generation! Stylized but not over-the-top and doesn't waste time using a lot of CGI and corny graphic techniques. The storylines are solid and hold you in suspense until the very end...just like the original! This series is worth purchasing and binge-watching. Enjoy it! FIVE STARS!

The stories are the best. Everything that made the original Twilight Zone awesome is packed in every episode. Then you get an episode that paints men as inheriently unstable and violent or heaps blame and condemnation on the protaganist for being a wealthy white woman. In each of the cases the "bad" people are actually portrayed as quite good and decient individuals. And yet are clearly bad just because of what they represent. After a while it just gets to be too much.

I'm a major fan of the original run of the Twilight Zone and of related anthology series (One Step Beyond, Tales of Tomorrow, etc) and so I thought I'd give this modern iteration of the show a chance. I went in with measured expectations, hopeful that the show could capture the spirit of the original without being a bland, derivative, nostalgia-driven carbon copy. I noted that the series seemed to feature a lot of "name brand" actors (not necessarily A-list talent, but not unknowns either) and I thought that this might work in its favor. Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed. Most of the actors in the three episodes I was able to slog through (the first three of the season) turned in solid performances, but none of them were quite able to transcend the subpar-to-mediocre material they'd been given to work with. In a word, the show is bland. The writing is predictable and hackneyed. The "big reveals" are telegraphed so obviously that the audience is never shocked when the proverbial jack flops flaccidly from its box. The show strives to be unsettling, but never quite gets there, what should be subtext becomes supertext, and even the Easter-egg call-backs to the original series are laid on with all the subtlety of a sledgehammer. The end result is that one winds up fighting not only to stay engaged with the episode, but also to stay awake. I'd love to be able to recommend this show as an heir to the original - or even as a solid anthology series on its own merits - but unfortunately, I can't. It's as dull as dishwater.
