About the Author

An avid reader and writer, Tracie Banister has been scribbling stories since she was a child, most of them featuring feisty heroines with complicated love lives like her favorite fictional protagonist Scarlett O'Hara. Her work was first seen on the stage of her elementary school, where her 4th grade class performed an original holiday play that she penned. (Like all good divas-in-the-making, she also starred in and tried to direct the production.) Tracie’s dreams of authorial success were put on the backburner when she reached adulthood and discovered that she needed a "real" job in order to pay her bills. Her career as personal assistant to a local entrepreneur lasted for 12 years. When it ended, she decided to follow her bliss and dedicate herself to writing full-time. Twin Piques is her third Chick Lit release. The pet psychic character in this novel was inspired by Tracie’s rascally rescue dogs. She’d love to know what goes on in their heads!

Hooray for the latest book from Tracie Banister. These twins will pique your interest from page one to the last line. The book is funny and charming, and filled with great characters, cute men, and even cuter dogs!

The story covers a summer in the lives of two identical twins who couldn't be more different. Pet psychic Willa is all sunshine and happiness. She firmly believes in love and is looking for The One, but mostly she's been looking in the wrong places. (Previously married to a mime? Really? Too funny!) Meanwhile, Sloane can't understand how her sister can believe in happily-ever-after when all men ultimately leave you disappointed and heart-broken. After all, they had the same dad (who actively chose to be a non-entity in their lives), so shouldn't Willa have learned the same lesson Sloane did? And now Sloane's worried Willa will end up broken hearted (yet again!).

Of course, it doesn't help that "I'm all about what's logical" Sloane sees the worst of people in her job as a forensic accountant. Dealing with corporate crooks and ugly divorcees on a daily basis is enough to test her faith in humanity. So, it's her job that Sloane is laser-focused on. She's so busy working on 2 huge assignments, searching for new clients, and enjoying a no-strings arrangement with a co-worker that she can't see what Willa sees - that their childhood friend Gav, who has moved back into his family home next door to care for his dad, might be the best thing for Sloane.

I really enjoyed spending time with these sisters. I couldn't decide which one I liked better. I think probably most of us can relate to sides of both of their personalities.

It is always a pleasure to read a creatively developed, well written & fun story. I couldn't wait to finish this novel to see how the twins really get their men. Tracie has a wonderful sense of meshing the real world with that of fantasy. I've already ordered her two previous novels. Keep writing, Tracie!

This book. Holy crap. There were several times that I had to wipe my eyes after laughing so hard. Worth every minute of sleep that I did not get!

***"And with that, I give my new friend a saucy wink and follow the PA out to the corridor, doing my best not to wobble like a Weeble."***

I seriously have no idea why that line was so funny to me, but I cracked up. For about 5 minutes after I read it.

And this scene...Lord, I was rolling after this one!

***"Me, too!" says Parker who pops up out of nowhere, like one of those obnoxious internet ads that encourages me to get a free colonic or enroll in clown college when all I want to do is buy a six-month supply of toothpaste and tampons.

"I love team lunches. Where are we going? The Italian place down the street, I hope. Their manicotti is the best!"***

Been there. SO been there. I think we all have a "Parker", right? ;) All I could picture was a hyper little dog ready to go for a walk. Fitting, no?

There are really so many funny lines in this book. We've got the "forget about men" thing going here, too. Oh, my friends, can I relate.

***"Men can always be counted on to let you down is a lesson I learned a long time ago..."***

Agree 100% for any potential love interests. I do have some pretty special guys in my life who I can count on if I need them, but they're more like family.

Then comes the romance. *SWOON* I never expected to get TWO book boyfriends from one book but um, hello! Tracie showed me that TWO book bfs are WAY better than one. No, that doesn't mean what you think it does. Get your minds out of the gutter. This isn't THAT kind of book!!

Be prepared for a double hitter in this lovely tale! First off, previously I had read In Need of Therapy by Tracie Banister, and my interest was peaked as soon as I found out about this story. Tracie Banister's comedic timing shines through again as there were too many moments to count where I was laughing as I read along.

Readers get to dive into the world's of Willa and Sloane Tobin, identical twins, but entirely different minds. Willa is free-spirited and easy going and even though her career might be a little off to most people, I really liked how she was comfortable with people "not getting her".

Sloane is the left brained numbers career focused sister with no time for relationships, whereas Willa's had her heart broken too many times to count. The compassion of each of the sisters for each other was really endearing and sweet. Each sister had their positive and negative traits, which made them both real.

Banister breaks the book up in to chapters told from each sister's point of view, and I really enjoyed this. There were several twists and surprises in this story and I kept sliding my finger to the next page as I found it very difficult to put down.

If you are looking for a great story, with swoonable moments, twists and turns, and plenty of laughs, grab this one right away!
