I have used this product for many years, taking 1 capsule with each meal or snack. Many companies make this type of supplement. I prefer Twinlab because they have a good reputation and because their product covers all the bases for boosting digestion. This supplement includes both hydrochloric acid, which tends to decrease in the body as we age, and digestive enzymes, which are normally produced by a healthy pancreas. These Super Enzyme Caps contain the Big Three of digestive enzymes: lipase for digesting fat, protease for digesting protein, and amylase for digesting carbohydrates.

Millions of people these days are routinely offered prescription antacid medication from their doctors or, on their own, self-medicate with over-the-counter (OTC) antacids for "heartburn," which doctors call "gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)." In a case of actual GERD, food or liquids in the stomach leak upward from the stomach into the esophagus (the tube from the mouth to the stomach). Many, if not most, doctors do not do actual, clinical tests to determine if a given patient actually has GERD, because essentially all of the tests used to diagnose GERD are invasive, time-consuming and expensive. This has led virtually all doctors these days to automatically, as a first step when a patient comes to them complaining of "heartburn," to prescribe antacids. If the patient's pain gets better, antacids may be given to that patient the rest of the patient's life. In the 20% or so of patients who do not report their heartburn symptoms improve on antacids, the doctor then proceeds to invasive tests.

My husband has always had digestive issues, and I developed reflux in my late thirties. Because of this, I started buying enzymes some years ago. When I take these consistently (ie, with all meals, but especially the heavier ones like supper), I find my gastric reflux stays controlled. When I forget to take them, I don't sleep as well.

We've had good results from these, so we will continue to take them.

the only other enzymes besides these that work for me are digest gold, which I have been taking too long and im not sure if there loosing their effectiveness or not so I decided to switch back to these, Also I read another review that says they help with scar tissue which is a definite interest to me right now. I can only speak to how they help me with digestion right now and I will update this review in regards to the scar tissue in a few months.

As far as my digestive system, I havent always eaten as well as I should have nor have I eaten in the best portion sizes either. These enzymes DEFINITELY settle my stomach and help me to absorb the nutrients from my meals ( when I eat meals with nutrients LOL) aswell as the nutrients from my vitamins. These help keep my stomach settled and keep these moving nicely so if your having digestive issues and youve tried many enzymes that seem to be doing nothing I would highly recommend taking these!

This is a great product for acid reflux problems. Doctor prescriptions and over the counter antacids really don't work. The problem was too little acid production, and this product helps produce adequate hydrochloric acid for proper digestion. It works very quickly taken after meals. I have used it for almost six months with no digestive problems that I have had in the past. I have recommended this product to others with excellent results.

These did aid in digestion and prevented abdominal bloating. However, I suffered from adverse reactions/side effects from this product. It contains betaine hcl which will result in a "warm tummy" if you do not have a low acid stomach. I also had an adverse reaction to the pancreatic enzymes (protease-amylase-lipase). They gave me a very sore throat, minor swelling/numbness of the tongue, feeling of fullness and general feeling of toxicity. They work well for many people, but I would proceed with caution.

If you have serious digestive issues I would highly recommend taking enzymes. I did find these helpful however, this specific brand of enzymes I've had a hard time with because of the smell. It sort of reminds me of rotting meat, which actually probably makes sense since the main ingredient in this is Pancreatin, which comes from pig pancreas. When this runs out I do plan on continuing to take enzymes but hope to find some that masks the smell a little better.

I have IBS-D and these were the first digestive enzymes that I tried. They work. A month or so ago, they were not available with Prime and I wanted to find something less expensive and tried another brand of enzymes. They did not work nearly as well as these--even with slippery elm capsules--so I decided to buy the Twimlab Super Enzymes caps, Prime or no. (Happily they are available with Prime again as of this writing.) I do not plan on switching again. One thing to note is that I had heartburn symptoms when I took these after meals. I tried taking them just before I finished a meal and that solved the problem without messing up anything else. Good product.
