From chapter one, I was glued to my kindle.
I could find SO SO many traits in common with the main character, Ava. From her crushing on her brother's best friend (Nick), to the horrid ex-boyfriend (Jarred) , to the best friend (Jess). Ava and Jess's friendship reminded me SO much of me and my best friend, it was sort of scary! LOL.
I mean, who doesn't want to find out you are really a princess and have way sexy guardians looking out for you??
The Storyline was one with plot twists and excitement that kept my attention from start to finish. The reference to many, many, paranormal creatures is what I think I enjoyed most. It was just magic, it wasn't just fairies, or dragons, or mermaids. It was a great combination of all "good" creatures against the bad.
Thrown into that was a great love story, where you didn't know which way it would turn next. (I LOVED the result!!!!)
Overall, this was an awesome read, and I am excited to read the next to see what "my" (yes, my dangit!!) twins are up to. I would recommend this book to any who enjoy a great love story, magic, and conflict (inner and physical)
Ava learns about who she really is, while learning to control, and use, her powers so that she will be able to rescue her brother. It will be a struggle. But she will get help from creatures and people she did not know even existed. Will she be able to figure out which Stanton brother, Aro or Nick, that she loves?
Can't wait to read the next! I love being transported into Magen's paranormal books. They way she writes them, just pulls me right in and leaves me wanting more as soon as I finish reading.
Twins Aiden and Ava, like so many protagonists, learn that they're not "normal" teenagers. They're from a magical world, fraught with danger, magic, dragons, and destinies.
When it's apparent that they need to do things they've never done before to save innocent lives, they go on a journey to find out who they really are.
Book One focuses more on Ava's journey/training to controlling her powers and saving people. Cool dragon-riders and elemental powers make this story a fun read.
Ava's character could've used more development, but she wasn't exactly one dimensional, so it's good. Her twin brother wasn't in the picture that much (he gets his spotlight in Book Two), but there are hot guys, pretty girls, and even handsome old people (which kinda makes you wonder just how magical their world is).
