Snug fit, exactly what I was looking for. People complain about these gloves being big and pillowy, but thats just not the case. they are wider than other gloves sure, but they arent nearly as big as some of the other gloves ive used. These are great for everything: bag work, sparring, even mitt work. I will absolutely be purchasing twins from now on.

I just started taking a MMA class. I didn't want to use the worn out bad smelling gloves at the gym anymore but I wasn't sure what to buy. My coach said to get 12 ounce and these had good reviews so I decided to try them. I LOVE them. They are a bit more padded then average which means no more sore hands after punching the heavy bag. My coaches told me I had done a great job picking them out. If you are not certain what to get you should get these.

When I first got these gloves they were very tight and stiff where it was difficult to make a fist. I couldn't figure out why they were so popular. However, I kept using them and once they broke in (which takes a while) they became my favorite gloves. The hand compartment is filled with soft padding and is actually larger than it seems. Once you start to use the glove the padding conforms to your hands for what feels like a custom fit and the stiffness disappears. It becomes easy to make a fist or to open your hand. There are three layers of padding. Super soft padding by your hands, denser padding in the middle and what feels like soft padding on the outside.

I have used these gloves for two years. The gloves do a great job absorbing the shock when hitting the heavy bag and the wrist support is excellent (but note my dimensions below). The gloves also pop very loud on the heavy bag, thai pads and mitts. The more they break in the louder they seem to get. After two years, the velcro is still going strong and the gloves still protect my hands. At my gym we have a very hard 150 lbs heavy bag which I hit regularly. I have never hurt my hands and /or punched through the gloves. I have the velcro version of the 16 oz Everlast Protex 3’s, and the I find the Twins more comfortable, higher quality, more durable and just as protective but with more feedback. The Twins are also softer for your sparring partners (I have a pair of velcro Twins for the heavy bag, thai pads and mitts and the lace up version for sparring).

Because I think it’s helpful to know if someone is the same size as you when looking at reviews for boxing gloves, I am 6 ft tall and weigh 175 lbs. My fist circumference is 9 inches, from the base of my palm to the tip of my middle finger is 8 inches, my wrist is 7 inches and my forearm is 13 inches. I wear a size large winter glove. I don't have heavyweight paws.

I think I'm a Twins Special fan for life. Had a pair before this for a couple of years. The other pair are still great. Just felt like getting new gloves! Great padding and compact for 14 oz. gloves. Not as compact as Fairtex. Fairtex 16 oz. gloves actually look like 12 oz gloves and odn't seem to offer as good knuckle and wrist protection. I like this brand for it's quality and color options. Also, probably the best wrist support of any glove I've personally tried. Great value too! Only $70 USD! Better than Hayabusa gloves, because the are less cumbersome and not flashy and not $125! Twins use genuine leather and I was told that the Hayabusa gloves were synthetic. You make the call...

I bought these gloves and they are awesome. Has overall great padding and great wrist protection. However I do not recommend this for beginners because I believe that beginners should go for cheaper gloves to until they decide whether to continue boxing or Muay Thai. Twins gloves are hands down the best Muay Thai gloves on the planet. Other options are top King and fairtex.

I have been using a pair of these for training for several months now and have no complaints. The are perfectly comfortable to wear with hand wraps on. The padding is good and the velcro straps can be fastened without assistance. I use them for the bag as well as contact drills and light sparring and they show no signs of wear after some good pounding. These gloves are high quality and I recommend them.

As with most equipment, once overall effectiveness has been established, all else then becomes preference. For that purpose, this review will be slightly different than others I have written. As it relates to the protection of my hands, several key points were non-negotiable:

1). Comfort
2). Wrist & Hand Support
3). Padding & Distribution of Padding
4). Weight Consistency
5). Safety Feature (e.g. Attached Thumb)
6). Overall Quality and Durability

The Twins Special gloves met all of the above. Once that was established, all else became esthetics and personal preferences. As a result, I have (1) pair of Hayabusa gloves - which I will soon donate; (6) pair of Twins Special gloves; and will soon place another order for (3) additional pairs of Twins Special gloves. Note how much I have decided to invest in Twins as I am pleased with this brand.

To be fair, I have tried Fairtex and Top King gloves, but found that Twins is the way that I will go. By-the-way, Fairtex, in many cases, have better printed design.
