The 8 and 10 oz gloves are designed for competition bouts or bag/pad work. The 12, 14 and 16oz gloves are ideal for general training and sparring. The heavier gloves provide for a rigorous workout and the attached thumb design prevents injuries.

Top customer reviews
I have used these gloves for two years. The gloves do a great job absorbing the shock when hitting the heavy bag and the wrist support is excellent (but note my dimensions below). The gloves also pop very loud on the heavy bag, thai pads and mitts. The more they break in the louder they seem to get. After two years, the velcro is still going strong and the gloves still protect my hands. At my gym we have a very hard 150 lbs heavy bag which I hit regularly. I have never hurt my hands and /or punched through the gloves. I have the velcro version of the 16 oz Everlast Protex 3’s, and the I find the Twins more comfortable, higher quality, more durable and just as protective but with more feedback. The Twins are also softer for your sparring partners (I have a pair of velcro Twins for the heavy bag, thai pads and mitts and the lace up version for sparring).
Because I think it’s helpful to know if someone is the same size as you when looking at reviews for boxing gloves, I am 6 ft tall and weigh 175 lbs. My fist circumference is 9 inches, from the base of my palm to the tip of my middle finger is 8 inches, my wrist is 7 inches and my forearm is 13 inches. I wear a size large winter glove. I don't have heavyweight paws.
