I LOVE Woods. What I don't love is when a book is split into two books when it could have been one book, just longer. I love a delicious, fun, great book. One that wraps me up in warm and fuzzies and angst and gives it all in one shot for me.
At about 95% I was wondering how the hell this book was going to wrap itself up in a pretty bow with only 5% left. A book that is split into two short books instead of one longer one does not make me a happy reader, I find it really frustrating.
Did I read it in one sitting? Yes
Was it hot and Woods is sexy? Yes
Was it like a bad one night stand with me feeling like, "WTF? Is that IT?!? It's over?!?" YES!!
Fair warning, this book did not leave me warm and fuzzy and I would've waited til' both books were realeased had I known the book would just stop. The End. Just saying......
Woods Kerrington: He would be almost every girls dream come true and naughty fantasy. He's tall, dark and handsome, as well successful. His downfall...his family. His father is controlling and demanding that Woods marry Angelina Greystone because it's good for the family name. Woods is refusing to let go of what should be rightfully his place in the family business so he finally gets engaged to the nightmare that is Angelina. however, not for long, he's drawn to Della. Della makes him want to be a better man. He falls for her completely and I couldn't have been happier about that.
Della Sloane: This poor girl! I don't know who I felt more sorry for her or Blaire Wynn. Della has basically lived in a cage her entire life. Her mother literally kept her locked away in the house. So much so that no one except her best friend Braden even knew she existed! Then she comes home to find her mother had committed suicide. Three years later she's taking a road trip to find herself. She finds Woods instead. She loves him but she's convinced she'll go crazy just like her mother so she keeps trying to push him away but she gives in after a while.
The big climax I won't give away but it had me so shocked and angry that I wanted to throw my book at the wall. Abbi Glines has definitely done it again!
I have to start with Woods. I actually did not like him in Fallen Too Far or Never Too Far. He really never interested me. He seemed spoiled, arrogant, and just another guy thrown into the story just to make Rush jealous when Woods goes after Blaire. Therefore, I had low expectations of him. But how can I not read the newest Abbi Glines book? I simply CANNOT! So Woods-another great name there, seriously hot-grew on me. His issues seemed very real. He wants to keep the one thing he's worked his entire life for. He has daddy issues to top it off. What I liked best about him though, or at least what he does, is that he makes a big decision not just based on Della. Okay, so it's mostly based on Della, but I really respected him for the other reason why he chooses the way he does in the book. So go Woods! I just wish he hadn't gotten SUPER caveman. It was just too much sometimes.
Della SHOULD have best Glines's best character ever. Her mother is nuts, there is some serious trauma in her past, she's been secluded for years, she's not another wide-eyed virgin, and she is very careful around Woods when she should be. I had a really difficult time figuring this girl out though. Her personality is all over the place. She is naive yet a little slutty. She is super sweet yet has a temper. She is unstable yet completely independent. She is pathetic yet badass. She is unpredictable to put it kindly, but sometimes I found myself thinking that what she does doesn't fit her personality. I'm hoping that in the next book I can pick up more of who Della really is. Until then, I'm not sure if I like her or just think...blah.
There are some grammar issues, but I'm not going to lie, this is expected of Glines. It's a self publishing thing, and it only bothers me a little since the story is good enough to distract me from the errors. Still, just a little heads up. The worst part about this book, however, has to be the sex. Glines is getting bolder and bolder. I sort of like it, but there are things in this book that made me cringe and really ruined the moment. Woods does go too far a couple times, and I wanted to just tell Della to tone down the "innocent" teasing. I will honestly take boring and repetitive over a tad sickening any day. I like these books more for the romance and alpha guys anyway.
Okay, so overall, am I glad I bought Twisted Perfection? Yeah, I guess so. I did like Woods, liked parts of Della, and I liked the story line. REALLY liked the story line actually. So if you're a fan, go for it. If you're not, pick out another book by Glines and build up to this one. Her lead guys are too FINE to resist.
