About the Author
Erin Nicholas was fourteen when she first fell in love with love stories. Not long after that she started writing romances of her own, often spending family vacations in the backseat filling notebooks with stories. Now the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Sapphire Falls series writes about women getting their happily ever after with humor, heart, and hope. From the fireworks of that first kiss to the thrill of passion, Nicholas strives to create novels that celebrate the magic of true love.

Jake simply wanted to do something with his life - he wanted to make a difference and he seemed to find his niche as a nationally recognized leader in disaster recovery. However each time he returns home to visit his parents his home seems so much more comfortable than the ‘road’ going to one disaster after another. But one of the bigger reasons he finds when he returns home is Avery Sparks, the young woman he hasn’t really forgotten since the night of her Prom. Avery had fully intended to move on just as Jake had, but wishing and accomplishing that feat was harder than she could accomplish each time Jake came to town.
This was a truly interesting read with the background featuring a very dangerous tornado ripping through town. The romance of course, was nothing new with boy has a love affair with girl - he leaves - she swears to move on - and then he comes back and sparks fly again. What kept this from being a ho-hum average read was the fight back from a disastrous tornado and how the people all pitched in a this small town to start all over and help one another.
Bottom line: Pretty good light read for a summer beach time novel.
Avery tries to avoid Jake because she doesn't want her heart broke again.
Jake comes back home for awhile and then he leaves again.
Chance gets hit by a Tornado and that puts Jake & Avery working side by side. That is not good because Avery is trying to avoid him but the closer they get she can't controller herself or her emotions. Jake feels the same way but he always want to be the hero and save the day..
