Meghan Quinn's writing always fills my heart with love and my soul with laughter and Twisted Twosome did exactly that. I had so much fun with Racer and Georgiana. Their enemies to lovers romance was a whirlwind full delicious and witty banter that squeezed my heart and kept a smile on my face.
One the outside, these two look like they should be oil and vinegar. Racer doesn't believe he could ever belong in Georgiana's world and they both stereotype each other. Yet when they really get to know the real person inside, it couldn't be more clear just how perfect they are for each other.
What I loved the most about Racer was the fact that he clearly owns up to his insecurities. At least to himself. He's strong and loyal and honestly has one of the biggest hearts that I've seen from a hero in a while. Add that in with his wit and the crazy things that comes out of his mouth, both funny and dirty, and he's the perfect man.
I enjoyed watching the two of them open up to each other and learn to let someone in and help them move forward and reach for the stars. They quickly become each other's rock and it was beautiful to see that happen.
Every single romantic comedy that Meghan writes has me dying to get inside of her head. The things that she comes up with is absolutely both hysterical and semi-appalling, which makes it that much more amazing. If only I could come up with such insane sayings.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. Twisted Twosome delivers a hilariously fun and sweet enemies to lovers story that will consume you from the opening sentence. You don't want to miss out on this one, trust me!
"I’m Racer McKay, and I wear man thongs for older, rich women while I work on simple projects around their houses. Excuse me, I mean mansions."
A fabulous take on the enemies-to-lovers trope, Racer and Georgiana couldn't be any more different at first glance. Racer is a working class man, a construction worker who also had to work side-jobs in the evenings and weekends just to make ends meet. He uses humour as a means of keeping people from knowing the real Racer, from discovering his true feelings and it's this quick-witted, flirty but often harsh and crude humour that first catches Georgiana's eye (well that and Racer is HOT when shirt-less 😍🔥).
Georgiana meets Racer when he's doing some work for her rich-as-all-hell father. From the outset it's apparent there is more than a snooty, rich, society girl in Georgiana. She has big dreams, huge aspirations for herself - and one even bigger obstacle in her way: old school thinking that a woman's place is by a man's... and Georgiana is set on knocking that stereotype out of the park. She might just need a little help from the hot construction worker she can't stand...
Twisted Twosome absolutely had it all: hilarious scenes where I laughed aloud and beautiful characters with such genuine back stories. It is just impossible to hate either Racer or Georgiana - even when they might think they hate each other.
Meghan Quinn has written another fabulous book that manages to pull at your heart strings one moment and then laugh out loud the next. She writes in such a genuine, authentic manner that you know the things her characters say and do are likely based on her own experiences. And it's this realness that makes Twisted Twosome one of the best romantic comedies I've read this year.
And the ending ... (no I won't spoil it) ... well all I can say is bring on The Other Brother because I know Smalls' book is going to be incredibly awesome!!!
One of the pranks involves a lettuce dress. Yes you read that correctly, a lettuce dress. Twisted Twosome is hilarious and is a must read!
I first discovered Meghan Quinn while reading The Bourbon Series (BTW another great series by Meghan Quinn). Her books just keep getting better! I can’t say enough about how good Meghan Quinn’s books are. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. But, I buy all of Meghan Quinn's books that is how much I love them.
