I really enjoyed Gia's side of the story too but boy where these girls messed up from all the lies and secrets they kept from each other and everyone else i kinda got the feeling they where jelouse of each other on certain things but none of them ever spoke to each other about it but i wont spoil it for anyone you just have to read and experince it for yourself and then Wow that Ending OMFG.. WTF! Just you wait i didn't see that coming
I will say that you NEED to read both sides to fully experience the rollercoaster of a ride .
I would like to congratulate both Author's on 2 Amazing Books
These books are companion books and should be read together:
The truth about Mack
Gianna Edwards, Gia aka G and McKenzie Perry, Mack were childhood friends, their parents socialized and they grew up like sisters. But along the way something went horribly wrong; their friendship broken and lives ruined. Gia’s life took a twisted turn into the darkness and she has barely existed since then.
Two teenagers caught in a scandal that rocked their community.
Shhh… (stand-alone) is a skillfully crafted and shocking tale with many taboos; underage sex and drinking, extramarital affairs, sex with older, forbidden men, lying on the witness stand, self-sabotage, substance abuse, suicide attempts, mental illness, promiscuity, non-consensual sex and violence.
Center stage Gia and Mack; Master manipulators, victims, both or neither?
This is not your next fluffy romance. Shhh… is raw, addictive and gut wrenching. A life full of regrets. But when the dust settles this is also a breathtaking, butterflies-in-your-belly love story that might just melt your heart! Shhh…
“Open your legs,” he ordered. “Wider.” He rubbed and slapped my p*****, taking turns in making me jump and struggle. His hand found my throat again, but this time he had more leverage to squeeze since he was facing me. “Trust me with your body,” he coaxed.”
Shhh,.. told from Gia’s POV is the slow unfolding of a derailment of several lives. It blew me away! Captivated me! Kept me on my toes! Story alternates between the present and past to come full circle in the future with a (bittersweet) ending and an epilogue NOT to be missed.Read more ›
I can't believe how much I hated Gianna... She's awful, jealous, slutty and vindictive. I usually like a "bad character". But, they have to have some redeeming quality... I never understood her problems or why she hated everyone in her life. Even beyond my dislike of this character... These books don't match at all... It was like these two authors got in a fight and stopped communicating altogether... It was so irritating I wanted to quit reading, but had to find out some secrets left over from Mack's Side... This book felt rushed, the characters weren't developed nearly enough to explain the complex story line.
The only thing better about this book compared to the other one is the cover...
Gianna aka Gia and Mack appear to have it all. They are best friends and neighbors. They are the popular cheerleaders that everyone loves. But Gia could never be good enough. She always was not smart enough, are pretty enough. She had the love and adoration of the loving boyfriend but that was also never enough. She found out early own she could use her sexuality to get what she wanted and drinking to numb the pain. She thought Mack was the perfect girl and hated being compared to her. She put on a front and never let anyone see the real Gia. Not until the day she walked into her English class and laid eyes on the new teacher.
“…the reality that I would learn much later, was that no one could see through me. I was a chrome metal shield that no one could break or see through… with the exception of one person.”
She immediately was drawn to him.Read more ›
I had no idea it was a teacher/student thing either. I mean I can't say I hated James because I didn't, he was sucked in by her and I felt sorry for Gianna then because then she opened up, laid out all her demons and he became her comfort. She was herself with him, when she wasn't with anyone else. But for me I couldn't figure out why she never did that with Jake. He was there, he loved her something fierce and I believe he would of comforted her and helped her slay her demons but she gave her heart to someone who she shouldn't of have.
The series of events blew my mind. I mean blew it. I never guessed the events that transpired and it threw me for a loop and I felt so sorry for James for the crap he endured.
I could not ever find a time where I could put the book down. I was drawn in and enslaved to every single word. And by the end, the epilogue I think my heart nearly leapt from my chest. Call me crazy or what have you but I still freaking love Jake, not sure why but I do.

Too much. Too little. Lots of emotion but the plot and execution is so disgusting. This is the kind of story that doesn't make me feel good even with a happy ending. Read morePublished 8 months ago by Kindle Customer
