The photos are excellent and included with every recipe. I would recommend to any baker, looking to recreate these delectable cookies, only a lot cheaper. Any level of baker should be able to make these recipes.
Thank you for the recipes!
My samoa cookies did not turn out as the photo shows just under the title but were tasty none the less. The cupcakes were a bit of a production to make but the final product was very tasty. You can take these recipes and tweek a but to your taste and have fun experimenting making your own versions, wouldn't a girl scout cookie Dessert Pizza make a splash at an event? Enjoy
I thought it would have 9 types of copy cat recipes for girl scout cookies, I guess technically it does have 9 types...I thought it would be copy cat recipes for 9 different girl scout cookies. Maybe I should have looked at the description more carefully. At the time I purchased this book it was free on Amazon. There were no reviews of this book at that time.
I gave it 3 stars because I feel the title was misleading, as mentioned above. I also thought some of the recipes didn't qualify as cookies, such as bark and cup cakes. I found some of the recipes to be duplicates with only slight variation.
I hope this review helps those, such as I, who were eagerly anticipating 9 different recipes for 9 different girl scout cookies.
I will say there is a table of contents that works well on the Kindle. The pictures of completed recipe is also nice for reference of what the finished product should look like. The book also I includes links to more recipes.
It contained a recipe for samoas and several samoa-based desserts, thin mints and thin mint "bark," and tagalongs (chocolate peanut butter patties). As a former Girl Scout I was hoping for more cookie recipes. No love for Trefoils (shortbread), Do-si-dos (peanut butter sandwiches), Chalet Cremes? No Mango Cremes with Nutrifusion?? (Ok, no one remembers those.)
I get why they included only the most popular cookies but people who love Girl Scout cookies enough to buy this book probably want to replicate the whole menu.
I will say that the three cookie doppleganger recipes did taste like the real thing.
