I purchased this material for use as a light ground cloth for a floor-less tarp tent. Previously I have used the heavier tyvek house wrap material but this is a much lighter solution. I recently used it on a 11 day backpacking trip in the High Sierra under some severe conditions and it worked out great. Maybe someday I'll buy some to build a kite!

I bought this Tyvek material to use as a back packer's tent ground cloth. This material is superb when used in that application. It is far lighter than ground cloths (footprints) made by the tent makers. In addition it is extremely rugged, virtually indestructible, waterproof, and does not tear. I highly recommend its use for this purpose.

I bought this Tyvek 1443R to make a footprint for my ultralight backpacking tent. It was shipped and delivered quickly and was exactly what I ordered. So far, it has been everything I hoped for... very lightweight, packable, and easy to cut to the desired shape. After using it on a weeklong trip, it was dirty, but held up well. I ran it through the washing machine and it came out ready for use again although it was much softer... like cloth. I am very happy with this purchase... even though I didn't build a kite out of it.

I purchased this material as a ground cloth for my tent. Very light, and it feels rugged enough for outdoor use, but definitely not on any sharp rocks. It's five feet wide, so I didn't need to trim it for my two man tent. Great way to protect your tent and save weight!

I used this to make a footprint for a tent. The product feels more like paper when you first take it out and use it. This actually makes it easy to cut and shape, but isn't a true definition of the quality of this product.

On my first weekend camping in a primitive campsite, I just happened to be lucky enough to set the footprint down in feces :-/. I thought, "Well, I might as well try to wash it and see what happens. If it disintegrates, I'll just buy the real footprint." However, after the wash and the dry cycles, the material came out perfectly and feels softer than cotton.

For durability, the site had lots of sticks, roots, rocks, acorns... You name it. The material doesn't show a bit of tear or damage. I'm very impressed.

Overall, this material is very strong and very light. No matter what you're using it for, you will be impressed!

I purchased a single piece of Tyvek material to see if it could be sewn into covers for equipment at work. The material arrived quickly and is exactly as advertised. To top it off, the company sent a catalog for their Kites and toys that I did not expect but WOW, I was stunned at the beautiful colors, shapes, and low prices to get into kitting, so you guessed it, after weeks of trying to decide what I want, I have an order ready to do for a kite for everyone in our family! What a wonderful family activity!

I used the Tyvek to make a Ground cloth for my tent. It is strong enough to sew corner straps with grommets for tent poles. It cut the weight of my existing ground cloth by 3 quarters. I used it on a back pack around Mt. St. Helen's and had no problems.

i bought this to use as a ground cloth for my tent while backpacking. it's supposed to be a cheap/lightweight alternative. got the idea from backpacker.com and though i have yet to use it in the field it looks like it will hold up well in the outdoors.

EDIT JUNE 2013: I've used it a couple times while camping now, and the thing i don't like is that it seems to hold a lot of dirt and because of that it's hard to clean. i still use it and plan to in the near future, but i wouldn't buy it again.
