This kit gave a good coating on my 5' Tacoma bed, and I took off my faded plastic fender covers and gave them each two coats. It looks AWESOME!
Note: I used acetone to clean the gun between coats, and that was very effective in keeping the gun clear. Make sure to do this to ensure that your last coat is as good as your first!
Line your floor with cardboard not plastic sheeting.
Clean the gun with acetone between bottles to ensure the same texture.
Prep is the hardest part of this job so take your time.
I thought I could do my trailer with 4 bottles but ended up using 8. Order more than you need. I was spraying at 50psi and am happy with the texture. Try a couple of pressures and spray some cardboard to see what you like before starting.
If money is no object, get someone to use your preferred spray in pro stuff with the desired color, but this seems very similar but much cheaper. I can only attest to function since I'm not a good painter. I took a few hours to sand, clean, degrease, and I used 1 can of their etch or whatever it's called, but I'm in too much of a hurry when I start spraying.
I ended up doing a video on youtube of the application
I recently purchased an M1101A3 military trailer and wanted to line the bed with something and came back to the U-POL raptor. It was consistently rated highly and seemed to have good UV and durability. I will have to wait and see about the long term, but application, ease of use and coverage was great.
I set my regulator on my air compressor to 50PSI (make sure that is 50PSI at usage, not static otherwise you will get a much lower flow rate and crap coverage). The Schutt gun that was provided was fine, just make sure you have some extra male compressor fittings and teflon tape.
Prep, Prep, Prep. I power washed, degreased, and hand washed my bed before spraying. 90% of how this stuff works is a result of your prep work, just like any other paint job.
I was able to barely cover my entire bed, side and tailgate with the 4 pots. 64 square feet, but I may have been applying thicker than others. I recommend a primer coat before if you are worried about coverage. I was spraying black over desert tan so coverage was more spotty.
All in all I am very happy with it, I will give it five stars now, and see how it holds up. I ordered another 4 pots to apply again and to the rack I am building for the trailer. I will also be hitting my bumpers, tailgate and rock sliders of my truck with it.
