I have bought several of the others and none of them has held up like this one has Due to the tub being so large and the water only flows through the bottom of it you can put several of the 3 inch tablets in it at one time. This item is very sturdy and no matter how rough the kids play it stays on top and does not fill with water . I would recommend this item..

Our pool holds about 4500 gallons of water. It made the first three days fine without any added chlorine tablets, but then thank goodness this product arrived in the mail. This is our first pool. It's 16 ft across x 4 ft deep. I sure am glad I googled and found out about using one of these to dispense the tablets. It's economical and PERFECT.

The previous floater I paid $20.00 from a pool repair guy lasted in my pool for 6 years. I thought all products were basically the same, and I was excited that I could get a replacement item for less than $9.00, so I purchased this one. Upon arrival it looked cheap, but I used it anyway. I have a pool cover on my in-ground pool, and I maintain a relatively low chlorine level. I only open my pool 1-2 times a week last year and then it was for about 2 hours each time, so this floater did not get much direct sunshine.

This floater sat very low in the water. The top blue piece faded to a very light color by the time we winterized the pool in September. The bottom blue piece was cracked by the end of the season in August, and it fell off in October when I checked my chlorine levels. I secured the piece with string and left it in the pool the rest of the winter. (I always leave the floater in the pool all winter long. Because the water is so cold the pucks do not dissolve very fast, algae doesn't grow, and I just have to vacuum out the dirt in the spring).

I know that $9.00 is not a lot of money, but it is just "one more thing" to buy to maintain my pool, and this one was not worth it. I guess because the first floater from the pool guy lasted so long, I had not anticipated the short usable life with this one. (I got less than a year out of it). If you want to spend the money annually to replace your floater, this one might get you through the season. If you don't want that annual replacement cost, then get something else that is thicker plastic.

When we opened the pool in March, my husband threw it away and told me he was getting another one at the local hardware store. He paid around $10.00 for the new one, and the plastic is twice as thick as this floating collapsible container, and sits higher up out of the water. The new one from the Hardware store is very similar to the one from the pool guy, so hopefully I will get a few years out of that one.

This is a very thin plastic piece of crap. Unfortunately that description applies to most floaters on the market today. I've had a double stack floater (holds 8 to 10 3" Tablets) for ten or more years now. The foam flotation has degraded over the last year such that it sinks to the bottom of the pool until some of the tablets are dissolved. I have been very happy with that floater, so can I find another one after extensive searching on the net? Not hardly.

I bought this 3” floater for one chlorine tablet I used when away for a day during some heavy rains to keep some flow of chlorine in the pool since I couldn’t add liquid chlorine (my preferred chlorinating method lol). This floater is cheaply made and not worth the money at all! The lid pops off so easily even when “locked”, so that’s not good. The bottom is “collapsible” but mine just stayed lopsided and awkward. It’s just an odd design. It has a SUPER thin plastic loop but doesn’t come with any string to tie it to anything. I found it stuck in my skimmer when I returned home.

Also, the bottom collapsible part where you put the tablets isn’t very wide! My 3 inch tablet was actually sideways in the floater. Since I only had one puck this was no big deal, but if you plan on putting 3 in there, it may take a few tries to get them to sit flat. It does fit the 3” tabs but there is pretty much no extra room width-wise. It is just a cheaply made, way overpriced product. I would be shocked if this would last an entire summer. Pass on this one!

I have used this product for about a month now, and after 2 weeks the lid was broken and the chlorine tablets fell out and sat on the bottom of my pool. While they sat on the bottom of the pool overnight they bleached the liner and made wrinkles in the liner. Which is very unfortunate for a pool that was installed in June. This product is complete junk and I would not sell it to my worst enemy.

We bought this a couple of nights ago for our pool. So far it has been been doing really well. It's really sturdy and floats around the pool nicely. It doesn't just stay in one spot. It distributes so chlorine in a timely manner. The only issue I have is that the bottom piece can be pushed up into the top piece when it is not in use. Sometimes that bottom piece does not just pop back out. I have to really work that piece out. Maybe I got a faulty product? I'm not really sure why it gets stuck. So far it's been pretty easy to use besides that one small issue.

Size: Pop-Up Refill Indicator DispenserVerified Purchase

This chlorinator works OK. The plastic is fairly thin making it seem flimsy compared to other floating chlorinators I've had. The pop-up doesn't actually go up very high. My pool is only 30 feet from my back door and it's relatively easy to see when it's popped up, but that probably isn't the case if your pool is 100 feet away. The chlorinator is adjustable for more/less chlorine, but it's very easy to mess up your adjustment just by picking it up to refill it. I used a zip tie through a couple of the slots to prevent the slots from closing all the way. If it ends up lasting 5 years be a decent value, but I'm not holding my breath.
