The new distributors of UFC dvds are not as good as the previous distributors. Too much content has been edited out. Brocks post fight antics, Dan's post fight interview as well as replays of his BRUTAL KO of Bisping...avoid DVD if possible.

So I just got UFC100 and the prelims are on the 2nd disc again along with the Countdown show, bonus behind the scenes, and sadly no weigh-ins. All the pre fight montages and post fight Rogan interviews are included as well, though the post fight antics with Brock are slightly edited with him flicking the crowd off and him saying he only drinks Coors Light instead of Bud Light are taken out but other than that its all there. This DVD has great fights on both cards and is a must have for all fans of UFC/MMA.

MAKING HISTORY
This was the historic 100th UFC event that was supposed to be the greatest card in history, did they accomplish that? I don't think they did but it was a great night of fights that also held the greatest knock out in history in my opinion. It would see a debut of a highly respected fighter in the first televised fight, a legend going against an ultimate fighter on the under card, a former welterweight contender coming back after his last fight, a battle of TUF coaches, a welterweight title fight, and an undisputed heavyweight champion crowned. The DVD its self is a mixed bag since it is edited but for the most part it is good. Also this is not the 100th UFC event, it is actually the 133rd event because of events that were listed as .5 after another event. These events included the Ultimate Ultimates and such. Also on a side note this DVD is heavily edited like Dan Henderson's post fight interview, as well as Brock Lesnar's.

DISC 1

1.YOSHIHIRO AKIYAMA VS ALAN BELCHER-this is absolutely a wonderful fight and highly entertaining as these two battle it out over 15 minutes. Belcher is a well known UFC fighter and Yoshihiro is making his debut after pilling up win after win in K-1 Hero's, with only one loss on his record. The first round was insane as both just slug it out both going for the finish. We see take downs, knock downs, and submission attempts in this round making it very hard to score. The second round is just as exciting as the first with both going all out trying to end the other. The only thing is Akiyama got the take down and controlled him on the ground for a while. Another close call round with Belcher landing some nice leg kicks, but I see Akiyama taking it.

Stacked card. Great fights. Was rooting for Mir to take out Lesnar and that fight was hard to watch as Mir’s face took an ugly pounding. Fight of the night had to be Henderson/Bisping simply because Hendo finally shut that noisy Brit up by knock. Hendo was all class as the coach opposite Bisping on The Ultimate Fighter preceding UFC 100. That season of TUF that pitted Team USA versus Team UK was frustrating to watch as the Americans prouded around an all-too-common entitlement attitude and substandard work ethic while the largely English cast showed real grown men maturity (minus Bisping who acted the part of dhead to perfection constantly running his mouth off and then not showing to a couple of his fighter’s fights with no comm as to why). Much respect to Ross Pearson for that season. Anyway, a close second to the Hendo/Bisping fight of the night IMO was the slugfest between Alan Belcher and Yoshihiro Akiyama. There were plenty of other great fighters on the card but their fights were merely good to okay (GSP rode to another decision victory by dominating a surging Thiago Alves in a fight that was less than spectacular other than showing Alves surviving getting beat up; the inimitable Jon Jones easily dispatched Jake O’Brien; Stephan Bonnar suffered a surprising defeat at the hands of the aged but aggressive Mark “the hammer” Coleman; and more). Still, it was fun to see them. The Blu-ray captures the crisp clear colors of the night’s proceedings but there are a few bits edited out such as Lesnar's ugly post-fight behavior. That's alright. We can do without it. The fighting event is certainly an event to own.

I saw this live on PPV when it happened on July 11th, and couldn't wait to get the Blu Ray. The blu ray for the most part, is fantastic. The HD presentation is 1080i, but looks as good as the HD broadcast on ppv. The card itself is awesome. The prelims were also great too. The bonus features include some promos for other products, nothing special. The real treat though was the behind the scenes look at ufC 100, which showed a lot of cool stuff. Also, the countdown to UFC 100 show was a nice compliment to UFC 100 and gets you hyped for the fights.

The only gripe I have, that keeps this from getting a 5/5, was that it seems the program is edited in a distracting way at times. For example, the entrance music tracks have been replaced by non-licensed royalty free music. Watching the PPV, I remember Frank Mir walking in to Kanye's "Amazing", but here it is replaced by a generic drum and base instrumental which sounds aweful. You can still hear the original entrance song in the background, although faint. It's an ugly effect. Also, some of the commentary is edited out, and Brock's famous rant at the end also got edited. He says most of the things, just not the bud light diss. Overall a great package still, but would have been better if it were unaltered.
