Editorial Reviews

Black Box UFO Secrets: The cockpit and control tower audio recordings of pilot and astronaut confrontations and sightings from 1947 to today are revealed and discussed. The Pacific Bermuda Triangle: "Dragon's Triangle," off the coast of Japan, has reportedly claimed hundreds, if not thousands, of missing ships, airplanes, and submarines since the first written reports in the 13th century. Deep Sea UFOs: Submerge yourself with these USOs--unidentified submerged objects, supposedly otherworldly vessels capable of operating underwater. Deep Sea UFOs Red Alert: Plunge into the Santa Catalina Channel near Los Angeles to search for evidence of a 1992 USO event and off to Australia to examine the famed Tully Water-Crop Circle Case. UFOs of the 70s: The most famous sightings of the decade are recalled. From Delphos, Kansas to Roswell, New Mexico, explore the mysterious and the unknown, and meet those who claim to have seen UFOs, or were even abducted by aliens. Hangar 18: The UFO Warehouse: Elected officials, UFO researchers, and former base employees go on record for the first time regarding Hangar 18, the top-secret facility on Dayton, Ohio's Wright Patterson Air Force Base. UFOs and the White House: Since WWII, every Chief Executive has publicly discussed, issued, or received documents from the White House pertaining to "Unidentified Flying Objects." Alien Encounters: From impressions in the dirt, burned or broken vegetation and trees to scientific abnormalities that have yet to be explained, trace cases offer up some of the most convincing evidence of the UFO reality.

The History Channel UFO Files series features well-made programs that have witness statements, actual tape recordings of UFO encounters, written records, interesting simulations, and archive films. Impressive cases are the following: (1) On November 17, 1986, Japan Airlines Flight 1628, a Boeing 747 cargo jet, that while cruising at 600 miles per hour at 35,000 feet to Alaska was followed for 400 miles by a large UFO and two smaller UFOs, an experience that was also followed on military radar. (2) On October 2, 1962, off the Sardinia coast, USS Franklin D. Roosevelt radar operator Harry Jordan's tracking of a UFO that traveled at 4,000 miles per hour that made right angle turns that were more like Z patterns four times and had no heat signature when stopped. (3) On March 1963, 100 miles from Puerto Rico, a U.S. Navy submarine exercise tracks a USO at a depth of 20,000 feet moving in excess of 150 knots for almost four days. I appreciated the professional presentation of these programs.

The UFO Files series is very good. Full of eye witness accounts on the UFO phenomenon and loads of re-enactments with computer generated graphics. Very interesting to watch BUT my issue is that this DVD only has 8 out of 45 episodes, which is a bummer. History Channel only released these 8 episodes to buy and thats it. They need to make the complete series available to buy. This is a good dvd but I would just buy a different one. Once if at all they decide to release the rest of the series, then I would jump on that deal. Until then, this is all you can buy out of the 45 episodes...

I think UFO Files is a very good show, and over the years the show did a lot of very interesting investigations into UFO cases not well known from the general public. So as a fan of the show I bought this DVD Set....and I am very disappointed by it. First of all this set features only 8 episodes; out of the 40+ episodes of UFO Files it's not a lot. Why only 8 episodes !!?? Why not at least 10 !? Very bad decision by The History Channel. Also: Out of the 8 episodes 4 of them are already on the "History Classic: UFOs and Aliens" DVD Set. "Deep Sea UFO: Red Alert", "UFOs of the 70's", "UFOs and the White House" and "Hangar 18" are all on that other DVD Set. And this is not a "Best of", a lot of episodes were way better than the 8 who are featured on this set. Where is the episode about Shag Harbour ?? The episode about "China's Roswell", the show about Area 51 or the one about The UFO crash in Mexico ?? I don't know who decided the episodes that would make the cut on this set but he or she did a terrible job.

The History Channel should release all 40+ episodes on DVD. Why they don't want to do it is beyond me. Anyway buy this set only if it's under 20$. Disappointing for the real fans of the show.

The ufo files and ancient alien series are really great and very informative if you havent seen them. The history chanel has this ufo files dvd set for around 30 bucks and the episodes that followed after for around 24 bucks each. If your looking to get the first 3 seasons of ancient aliens also then your better off getting them through amazon. The history chanel website has the first 3 for around 60 bucks, you can get them here at amazon for around 40 bucks(for all 3)

As recently as 2007, I used to laugh inwardly whenever I heard people profess belief in UFOs. But after hearing about a mass UFO sighting in January 2008 in the town where I went to college, I became curious and couldn't stop researching the topic. The History Channel series UFO Hunters was certainly informative, but much more convincing were a few of the episodes from its predecessor, "UFO Files." This DVD set contains eight of the "UFO Files" episodes that were originally broadcast on The History Channel from 2005 to 2007.

Before watching these episodes, I had never heard of the phenomenon of Unidentified Submerged Objects (USOs). USOs are UFOs that dive down below our oceans and are able to remain and operate successfully there. One episode talks about incidences of USOs near California, Russia, Australia, Canada, and Puerto Rico, and recounts 911 calls from 1992 from observers on the California coast that saw USOs silently rise up out of the Pacific and fly off.

A related episode discusses the "Dragon's Triangle" off the coast of Japan. In that region over the centuries, numerous planes and ships have disappeared; ships have lost their compass readings, have suffered sudden shifts in the space-time continuum, and recorded missing time; unmanned 'ghost' ships with the entire crew missing have been reported; and there have been numerous sightings of UFOs/USOs diving into and rising up out of the ocean. I found this much more convincing than conventional UFO sightings; if it is one thing to be skeptical about stories of strange objects in the sky, it is much more difficult to disbelieve sightings of objects submerging into and emerging from bodies of water.
