This book introduces the reader to the history of golf, rules, etiquettes of playing, equipments, strokes, building and developing your game on the driving range as well as on the course, and very easily and comprehensively guides you through the process. We can argue there are plenty of books in the market that does these things. In fact, one can pick up a set of clubs, head out to the driving range, hit a bucketful of balls, and then start enjoying the game. What sets this book apart from the rest is the comprehensiveness of coverage, its emphasis on high impact topics, very clear and detailed explanations of the different shots and practices and strategies, and the lucid, easy style of the writer. Rob Green has a great website where you can feel his passion about the game, and in this book he has conveyed this.
When I started reading this book, I was beginning to play golf myself, and I think in all fairness, this book has enabled me to see the larger picture and enjoy my game. I have followed the instructions and diagrams and I have been able to improve my shots substantially, and I thank this author for the book.
I think it'd be excellent to have a few videos embedded in the book, but then, there are plenty of youtube videos available on golf already. All in all, it's an excellent golf training manual, and at least I think I got my full worth of money from this book. There are very few books that live up to the name that shows on the cover and rare is the book that exceeds the promise of cover. I think it is one of those rare books that delivers what it promises on the cover. I am glad I downloaded and read this book. It is a terrific guide to golf. Ultimate? for beginners, you bet.

Although it has details about grip, swing, club selection, and all the usual "how to" stuff, its the sections on being a golfer that are invaluale. It's like having a mentor. If you read the book you will know how to look and act the part, which helps the physchological aspect of the game.
