I'm reviewing a number of scales this evening, because in trying to discern the best to buy, based on customer reviews, I found a lot of conflicting stories. So, I carefully studied all the scales on Amazon based on their features and dimensions, and I bought seven of them. Of those seven, this did not turn out to be my favorite, but it's a very good scale, nonetheless, and it has one very important feature that cannot be found on any of the others that I bought: this scale has a capacity of 500 grams. My other scales have capacities of 100g, 200g, and 20g. Of course, you can get scales of any capacity that you want, but I wanted certain features, and that seemed to limit the playing field somewhat.
One of the features that attracted me to this scale is its ability to weigh in many units. Here are those units, along with the maximum weight you can expect to measure in each:
* Grams, up to 504.97 g
* Ounces, up to 17.813 oz. (just over one lb.)
* Troy Ounces, up to 16.236 ozt
* Pennyweight, up to 324.7 dwt.
* Carats, up to 2524.9 ct.
* Grains, up to 7792.8 gn.
Note the maximum capacity in each unit is slightly above the rated maximum. I can't guarantee its accuracy beyond 500 grams or the equivalent in other units. If your needs go beyond 500 grams (17.635 oz), you should look at another scale.
The backlit LCD display is easy to read with clear, tall lettering. A button on the front panel cycles between the 6 units (called "Modes" on this scale). It also has a "Pieces" button. This enables you to sample, say, 25 items equal to each other in weight, such as beads, then to fill the tray up with them (up to 500 grams), and it will tell you how many pieces are in the tray. It comes with TWO trays, so it will hold a good many pieces. If you use a tray, you push the "Tare" button, which zeros the display once the tray is on it. No math required!
The dimensions of this scale, with the cover on it, are 5.125" x 4.25" x 0.84" (roughly 5 ⅛ x 4 ¼ x ⅞), or in metric: 13.0175 x 10.795 x 2.1336 cm.
If you leave a weight on the scale for a while, it tends to "sink in" and the measured weight begins to go down. Apparently the mass conversion cell fatigues over time. But take the weight off and it gets back to normal quickly.
To calibrate the scale, you will need a 200 gram weight and a 500 gram weight. It requires both to complete the calibration.
I cannot find any reference to the company that made this device, not at Amazon nor in the documentation that came with it. It's probably the same Chinese company that makes most of the others, but I'd like to know who made it.
Now, as to accuracy: this was one of the scales that always seemed to give a contrarian measurement. If the other scales agree on 10 grams, this one would say 9.99 grams, and if you leave the weight on it, chances are that it will fluctuate a little. It's not an expensive scale; moreover it feels cheaply made. But I do like the large metal tray and the even larger plastic ones that come with it. But if precision and accuracy are important, this is probably not the scale for your physics or chemistry projects. I keep it for one reason; it's the only scale I have that goes up to 500 grams, the others topping out at 200. When I find the PERFECT scale, I'll probably dump this one and a couple others, but until then, I'll keep this in the back of the drawer for those slightly heavier measurements. So what can this measure? The paperback "Guidebook for United States Coins," but not the hardback. A pound of coffee; even a pound and one ounce, but not a pound and 2 ounces. It will weigh a half kilo of fossil rocks, but not a pound and a half of downy feathers.
This scale is too big to be a pocket scale. As a desktop scale it seems a little puny both in terms of capacity and in construction. Its plastic trays do protect it from harm, though they add nothing to its aesthetics. It looks like a scale, it works pretty well, but there are better ones to be bought. I'd probably give it 3.5 stars, but I'll be generous since we don't have half-stars and round it up to 4 stars.

I should start by saying this is not a perfect scale, but it is a great value, and you won't find a 500g x .01g that matches this scale for this price, or even significantly more (Ohaus makes nice scales, but they also want a LOT for them!).
The 500 g capacity is nice with the .01g accuracy/resolution in this case. I have many intended uses for this. I am a homebrewer, and am replacing an aging scale to measure out my hop additions with.
I also have air rifles, and I do have a 20g x .001g scale to measure down to .02 grains with, but what will be nice about this scale, is it can count, so I could use it to check to see how many pellets I have in a tin, or pellets remaining, etc.
I also am in to espresso, and home roast. I use scales to measure out exactly how many green coffee beans to roast in my roaster, as well as I just used this scale to properly dose my shot, which I had never thought of before.
The response rate of the scale is excellent, and better than some other scales that I have.
The scale is a bit off when I used some 10g calibration masses, but only by .01-.02g. At that point, it is close enough for me to feel confident with the use of the scale. If I ever am concerned about it, I will purchase the necessary calibration masses for this particular scale (200 g and 500 g, if I remember correctly).
Overall, a great scale, and I may be replacing some other scales in my rotation with this particular model, or variations within this series.

I got this because I needed to measure a supplement that was in a powder form. The supplement's website said the scoop that came with it was 100mg. I trusted this until I ran out of a 125 day supply in less than a month. I first thought that scammed me on the quantity, but then I got this scale.
I weighed the scoop, and then the scoop filled with powder. The scoop they gave me was actually 500mg. So I was taking 5x what I should have been.
The only downside I found to this scale is that the calibration is wrong again soon after you just calibrated it. So I found myself calibrating it before I weighed each thing. It would be correct for that first couple items, but then would be off by about 1-2%.
Also, I used a 200G and 500G calibration weights. You do need both.

This scale is awesome. It measures to the hundredths, it comes with 2 different sized trays that both slide over the top for easy storage, and the size/shape and general appearance are sleek and savvy. I appreciate that the tray area is larger than other battery-powered digital scales I've used. The batteries last a long time and the control panel is quite easy to figure out. I use this scale for all sorts of household tasks, mostly for making natural remedies and body care products for my husband and I. I've had this scale for about 3 years and it's going strong! If/when it ever dies, I will definitely repurchase.

I ordered a couple of other scales in the past weeks. They came with a toxic smell to them. I was getting high sniffing them, and my hands stunk after touching them. I found out some factories in China are using some toxic plastic. Fortunately, the company that manufactures this scale is not one of them. Our of the box, I tried to weigh some stuff with known weights. Some came within a good tolerance, and others were way off. I bought a 500g to calibrate the scale. That did the trick. Looks good now.

Easy to Use. Extremely Portable. Easy to Use. (I meant to write that three times because it's really Easy to Use)

Great little scale. Small, no power cord (runs on batteries), SUPER easy to use. I use ounces and grams so I needed to be able to switch back and forth easily. This does it. It shows down to the 1/1000 which I absolutely needed. Use the clear cover that comes with it as a tray for weighing. I weigh things that roll so it works great. When I read the descriptions of scales when I was looking to buy one, it was a bit daunting. I was thinking they were going to be tough to figure out. Nothing could be further from the truth on this unit. Basically it's plug and play.
