Just received the knife today. A bit bigger than I was thinking, but is 11" as stated. Good size for fixed blade knife, much like some KBar knives. The Saw teeth aren't sharp, but the blade itself is rather sharp. The poor box didn't see it coming. Have read that people are unsure of what the various holes are for. I do believe I have an answer for that, but don't bet all your money on me. Having had some training in the application of Knives in self defense, thanks to the military, I would venture to say the holes are for 550 cord. Much like a lanyard that you would use to keep from dropping a knife, or pistol on the ground, you can use it to keep in knife in your hand, which you would want in a self defense situation. So; say you ran some 550 cord through to front finger guard to the back one, then to the bottom, sort of like a very sad sort of protection for your hand, this could, in theory, keep the blade in your hand. Now, say that jimmy-joe-bob (or whom ever) hits your hand hard enough so that anything you would be holding would fall to the ground. A lanyard is nice, but having to waste a few seconds to pick the blade back up is gonna cost most people. Having threaded the cord through all three holes will help to keep it in your hand. As I demonstrated in a few pictures that I have uploaded.

As for a self defense knife, the look alone makes it intimidating. I wouldn't use it much for stabbing, but for "hacking". The weight makes it perfect for this; which in turn good for slashing as it would take some force to stop the motion. I'm not saying that it won't stab, just that it may take more force than other knives.

The sheath looks to be of good quality, and I love the fact that the securing strap to keep the knife in the sheath is a snap, not Velcro. Just a personal pref.

I purchased this knife, along with the Mtech Full Tang Tactical Knife, to add to my growing collection. Im very impressed with the quality and design of the blade, handle, and the sheath. It looks mean, and quite beautiful, yet it is very durable. The blade itself could be sharpened (recommended), just like every other blade that's fresh out of a store/factory in most cases, but its great, nonetheless. I recommend this knife to anyone that enjoys unique blades to add to a collection, or even use. In my case, I will be doing both! I will be adding pictures as well.

Not sure about the other reviews stating the knife is not sharp. Maybe there is some consistency issues with quality control or maybe they corrected any of those issues prior to my purchase, but mine was sharp enough to shave with, so I did. I would post a video shaving, but how would I prove I did not sharpen it first? You'll have to trust me. I was impressed by the overall quality for the price. The grip and weight of the knife feels solid in your hand and it seems tough enough for heavy duty jobs or protection.

Absolutely stunning functionality.(note: functionality, not self defense)
Knife is machined out a solid (not "2 pieces glued together" as a certain user has lied) chunk of nice and soft stainless steel. Thickness measures to be a tad thicker than the claimed .1875", it comes closer to .2000-.2050. It is as full tang as you can get, follows the contour of the handle to a T.
The ambidextrous aggressive handle design and the makeshift, yet bulky enough, crossguard make the knife highly unlikely to ever slip out in either direction. The handle could be a bit thicker, as it sits kind of timidly in my hands, and the aggressive design sacrifices a good amount of grip comfort to ensure that it stays in your hand. In my opinion that is a plus, wrap it in tape if you want a more ergonomic grip.
Cons:
The strap slot in the back of the knife is cut way too close to the edge, and leaves a very thin sliver of support. So if you will ever find yourself hitting something (or someone) with the hilt, don't expect the strap to stay attached for long.
The handle material seems to be made of some really hard plastic, which is not a great, very prone to fracture under stress. A much more elastic polymer would have been a better choice.
Handle is bolted together as expected with barrel bolts, so it's good against handle shear.
Lacks a serrated section. But that is not particularly a negative, as anyone with access to a disk grinder can simply add one in any style/location/length they want.

Overall this knife is magnificently designed for raw functionality, a very easy 5 star if you are lost in the jungle and need a knife to kill/survive/cook/hunt/etc. But very poor design and ergonomics if you are going to be using this in a knife fight or need a knife of legal length for self defense and quick extraction.

So first off, very thick blade and sturdy handle. The blade serrations on the back would be more benificial with an actual edge, but it's not a flaw by any means.
The inward drop on the middle of the blade is the most useful part to this blade in my opinion.
The tanto point is sharp, the blade however is not, but within few minutes it now is.
The sheath has a plastic insert that does not rattle as much as one would think. It has a button snap for the handle, and a pouch in the front that is velcro. Also it has an adjustable leg strap, along with extra nylon cord.
Overall, I can see this being my new favorite knife. Plus ultra fast and cheap shipping. Totally worth it. 5 stars solid.
