The MTech USA Xtreme Fixed Blade Tactical Knife (model MX-8059BL) features a two-tone half-serrated blade and a G10 handle, with a 9-inch overall length. This tactical fixed blade boot knife features a two-tone, double half-serrated blade made of 440 stainless steel. Grade 440 stainless steel contains more carbon, giving it excellent hardness and edge retention. The G10 handle offers a superior grip in even the wettest of conditions, and it features a lanyard hole on the end that allows you to attach additional cordage -- very useful in the field. This knife comes complete with a leather sheath for easy and safe carry. MTech USA Xtreme offers a variety of both tactical fixed blade and folding knives that are made with thicker and higher grade materials such as 440A and 440C stainless steel blades.

The G-10 scales provide a good grip, though I'd prefer a little thicker, more rounded grip. This grip is flat-sided. I still love it. My son bought the S&W HRT so I have been able to compare them side by side. The difference in price is negligible, so either one is a good buy. The sheath I received is almost indistinguishable from the HRT. Nicely made and the snap secures the knife well.
Both are excellent stickers, slight differences in grip, and of course the serrations. Steel alloy is also similar, probably some difference in the hardening/tempering at the time of blade manufacture. I am very happy with this knife and highly recommend it if purchased for its proper use.
Sheath: Now on to more important things. The leather sheath is actually acceptable. It looks like it will last a little while which is good since this was made in China. It fit right in my army boot with a 2 and a half inch metal clip built into the leather. The Sheath also has a nice snap button that holds the knife in the sheath. Like I said, so far so good. Possible drawbacks for the sheath may include durability issues with heavy use. Overall sheath: B+. Could have been higher if it was better quality, but c'mon, this is a value knife. You pay for what you get.
Blade: The actual blade came decently sharp (You probably want to sharpen it to your preference as I have). The serrated edge is what you would expect. It comes @440C Stainless steel. Info on the steel: It sharps easier than say Carbon steel but does not hold its edge like Carbon steel. It requires regular maintainenance sharpening due to this. It resists corrosion and rust (great in certain environments e.g. high humidity, wet climates). Basically, if you are going camping, bring a sharpener.
Handle: The handle is heavier than the blade, so if that is in your major criteria, go look elsewhere. Mine has not gone through heavy use yet, so I can't tell you for certain whether this handle is super durable. It does appear though that it should last for the price of the knife, good trade off.
Overall knife: Comes in at 9 1/8th inches from blade tip to handle. The blade is 5 inches. Will need maintenance (sharpening) but would be a nice addition to your collection and every decent knife has good use. I am not a knife expert, I just do a little bit of research. If you already have a big collection, this is not needed. If you are starting one out, or need one this size, I would reccomend it.
