      We play a lot of games in our home and when I saw this one we had to get it. It's a little like the game Secret Hitler in that you have to find who are the hidden death eaters but with a more Harry spin to it with more battling. This is better/more fun to be played with more players.

      As is the case in most of the Op's board games, the components are high quality. The game itself has a small footprint which is important if you collect a lot of board games.

      The artwork , which is primarily exhibited on cards, is satisfactory and while the layout of the instruction booklet is exceptional, some of the rules are unclear and left to interpretation.

      If you are familiar with Harry Potter lore, this game is highly thematic, although it is not a prerequisite to play. It also helps to have some experience in secret identity style games like "werewolf" in which some players are covertly working against the others while trying to keep their roles private.

      Where this game has a little extra depth, is that the group is battling through encounters using dice in a Yahtzee-esqe style. So, there is a little more to do than just protect your identity. As the game progresses, there is the possibility of more players being recruited to the dark side so your allegiance can shift mid-game.

      While the game is most definitely above average in terms of being enjoyable, it does have some drawbacks. We found that it takes considerably more time than the box suggests, especially when you are learning it. The biggest drawback is that there is a minimum player count of 4 players. It seems like nowadays, it is difficult to round up a lot of people for a game night. And, like other games of this nature, the experience is best when there are many players involved. In this case, there is a maximum of 8 players and I would bet that that is the scenario that provides the optimal gameplay experience.

      So, this game would most likely be enjoyable if all players have a vested interest in Harry Potter, and are willing to bluff and learn a unique secret identity style of gameplay. As is the case in almost any game, the owner should do his/her best to prepare by gaining a thorough understanding of the rules ahead of time. This might be best supplemented by watching some online videos as the rulebook has some obvious holes that will be open to interpretation.
