The art on the board is fantastic.
The play pieces are really cool. (I called dibs on Rick's hat!)
The way they converted the money into supplies like ammo is neat.
Scavenge and Supply Chest cards are fun.
Overall the re-naming of the territories was well-done.
The printed instructions are detailed and the short-game mode suggestion is cool.
The "houses" and "hotels" are now called "walls" and "guard towers" respectively however they are still plastic houses and hotels. It would have been nice if they were actually walls and guard towers but that's being a bit nit picky I think.
A little more printed money would have been nice. With four players we quickly ran out of 1's and had to keep turning them in to the bank for larger bills so the bank would have some.
If you're a fan of The Walking Dead and you like Monopoly you can't go wrong with this!
But then, it is a Zombie Apocolypse, after all.
The idea is to accumlate all the properties, which are comic based, and fortify them with walls and towers (aka houses and hotels). The currency in the game is also different. Instead of hard cash, each bill represents a certain type of essential supply: first aid kits, bullets, grain, etc. Other features, such as income tax, are still in the game, but are changed enough to fit the setting and style of the game.
All in all, it's a great remake of Monopoly, and this has become a go-to game at parties when my friends and I want to play a board game.
Also, the selling point on this set, for me, was the inclusion of Lori Phone as a playable piece. That alone is worth purchasing this set.
So it is novel and okay, but all said and done everyone in my family reverted back to the original monopoly game when asked to play.
