The alarm clock is easy to set. It has a choice of three ring sounds (regular ringing, bird chirps and music) that start soft and low and gradually increase in volume. The maximum volume can be preset by the user.
The vibrator can wake up a dead when set on the max. This is a wonderful option for the deaf or hearing impaired. Naturally, you can leave the vibrator in the box if you don't need it. There are three settings available: sound only, sound and vibration, and vibration only.
The clock has backup batteries (two AAA ones). This is a must for any alarm clock because it provides protection from occasional blackouts and allows relocating of the clock without need to reset it.
The display is very clear, and its brightness can be adjusted.
There are only two things which I'd prefer to have different. First, I, personally, like flat, low height bodies for such lightweight items. Yes, I understand that it was stylized as an old alarm clock, but if it were flat, it would be more stable on the nightstand and easier to grab and hold. Actually, I'd prefer the base of it to be much heavier. But this is just me.
Second, I think that placing USB port in the front would be more convenient. But, again, it's just me.
I have an alarm clock made/sold by the same company. It has a more contemporary style. I bought it a year ago, and it works flawlessly so far.
