Product description
Brew your favorite coffee on backpacking excursions and camping trips with the Ultimate Survival Technologies FlexWare Coffee Drip. This collapsible coffee drip works with a number two paper filter, brewing coffee into your favorite mug as you pour hot water over the grounds inside. It takes a couple of minutes for the water to soak the grounds and permeate through the filter, making a delicious cup of coffee in the process. The heat-resistant, food-grade silicone won't create harmful byproducts with hot liquids (it's BPA-free), withstanding temperatures up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Plus, it's dishwasher safe for deep cleaning once you return from camping.

We have a shared pantry & office, plus because of COVID, I don't trust leaving a coffee press in the office. This was great. I can pack it in my bag every day to bring in/out of the office to use along with a sandwich bag of coffee grinds & coffee filters. It's also pretty easy to clean being that it's silicone; I usually just rinse and dry when in the office, then at night I'll wash it with soap.
However, I don't use this as a drip method for brewing. The flow is much too fast and you wouldn't get much coffee taste; you would need to use possibly double the amount in order to get the desired taste, unless you don't mind wasting your coffee. I usually scoop the coffee in a cup of hot water; stir and let it sit for a minute to let it steep out the flavor/caffeine. Then, I'll pour the coffee over this (with a filter of course) over another cup. It does take some time, effort, and space though but this is also how I like to brew coffee at home. I've tried many methods and this yielded the best results for me. This is also the method I'd do on my 'good' coffee grinds, while the not so good one I can care less and sometimes put it into the Keurig as well.
For me, this worked great and for $5 it was amazing. I use to use the large IKEA funnel and now this replaced it - it's also much easier to use. But as mentioned, I wouldn't recommend using this for drip brewing method. It's amazing for just holding the filter paper and removing the grinds after other brewing methods - even press beacause they leave grinds behind too.

Cons - tries to fall over/collapse on one side when there is water in it so you have to babysit the brewer.
- has 2 holes at the bottom so the water filters through far too quickly, resulting in week coffee. To fix this I brew into cup #1. Then use cup #1 weak coffee to pour over grinds again, brews into cup #2.
I will be searching for a more sturdy item, hopefully with single hole.
I have to say that the coffee from this item beats the Melitta everytime. It's not even comparable. I am aware that there are many factors, but I believe the 2 holes instead of 1 make most of the difference.
