Overall build quality of this item seems nice enough, but the sizing around the legs is really small. I'm not a huge guy by any means, but it doesn't fit around my thighs at all. I went ahead and measured the distance of the straps; the upper is about 26 inches, and the lower is around 19; however you have to take an inch or so off of usable space for the actual clips, and then it's also closer to the center of the holster which shaves off another inch or two. I added a couple of pictures so you can get an idea of what I'm talking about.
If you're around 23-24" at the thighs you're too big for this. Maybe you could get some kind of extension to make it work. It would be at least a 4 star if that were the case.
Other than that, the belt strap works well, and it fits a 1911 comfortably enough. It would probably work really well for a gal's costume, or a smaller guy's holster.
The holster itself, like the left handed variety, appears to be great quality. It looks really good, the straps - as short as they are- appear to be good quality. The clasps and material are great too. For me, this would be a 5 star item with an extra 6" of upper strap and extra 4" of lower strap. To be a more universal fit for most people it probably needs more like an extra 10" of upper strap and extra 6" of lower strap. It's a lot easier to shorten a strap than add to one.
The worst part about this one being so small and not working is that I'll have to buy another product if I want a matching pair of leg holsters.
(I will include pictures in my positive review of the left holster)
I'm 6', 185 lbs. The upper leg strap fits fine, but the lower one is a little bit tight with the strap all the way out. I don't have huge thighs, but I do bike a lot. I may sew in some extra 1.5" webbing to make the lower strap longer. The lower strap doesn't feel completely necessary, so I may also just opt to not use it.
I just got it today so I'll have to put it though it's paces and report back, but I wanted to get it out there that the Benjamin Trail pistol easily fits and it's a better option than on your hip. I would imagine that a Crosman 1377/1322 would work just as well (if not it's still a good holster and you could probably mod it slightly to make it work. Overall the construction seems sturdy and well made. It's definitely made for large guns. Little guns would get lost in it.
