UTG New Gen 4” Tactical Red/Green Dot Sight, 38mm Tube, 4MOA Target Dot, Complete with Integral Picatinny Mounting Deck with Double Locking Nuts and Flip-open Lens Caps. Leapers/UTG’s dot sight is designed to offer a crisp dot for professional precision shooting. By design, a reflex sight will more or less have coma effect due to the spray rays and minor ghost image caused by reflection. In general, due to the contrast, the brighter the target background, the crisper the dot appears and the least amount of ghost image will show. In addition, lowering the illuminiation intensity setting will lessen any ghost or spray imaging.

I put in ~200 rounds through the rifle - and through the course of the evening removed it and remounted it a few times. Dropped once on a concrete floor from a few feet (accidentally), banged it about (unintentionally) on various surfaces. All through - it held zero perfectly!
And it just so happens that today I was firing Hertenberger surplus ammo - which tends to be pretty hot and bangy (hotter and bangier than regular 308 / 7.62x51). Didnt faze this little guy at all. Mounted on real tight and held on throughout the session. I'm pretty certain it should be able to handle .223/5.56 without any issues. Shotguns ... I'm guessing the little guy should be able to handle as well.
I haven't poured water on it, or driven over it, or shot at it. And I don't intend to. This may not be on the same level as an EOTech/Aimpoint/Trijicon/Elcan - but for the casual shooter - this is brilliant. And even for the serious shooter - buy a few of them and put them on your beater rifles or just store them away for a rainy day. For 34$ - this is a no-brainer.
UPDATE 4-15: FINALLY got to the range!! Still cool and drizzlly, but do-able. I am VERY pleased with the scope. I was trying to find one with a smaller (2-3) moa dot, but they are normally too expensive for me. The 4 moa dot on this is just perfect. At 50 yds. it just covers the bulleye, so it makes aiming pretty easy. I think I could have gotten closer to the center of the bullseye had I spent more time, but it was getting chilly. I have included a pic in the customer images above, of the last target which has a 2 inch center. These were fired from a bench using a rest. I am no marksman, but I think the scope did very well. Overall I really like this scope. Enjoy.
The only complaint that I have with it was it put more weight than I wanted on the firearm I originally purchased it for (KelTec CMR 30), but that is just me.
